A Workwear Chain Walks Into the Anime Aisle

Workman is best known in Japan for low-priced, highly functional workwear, the kind of gear sold to tradespeople rather than fashion shoppers. That is exactly the pitch here: according to a report from Japanese news outlet Travel Watch, the company says the collab items keep its usual functionality and pricing while reworking each series' characters and world into designs that are easy to wear every day.

The limited-edition lineup rolls out in stages from October through December 2026 at Workman locations across Japan, including its Workman Plus, Workman Colors, and women-focused Workman Joshi store formats.

Plus Ultra T-Shirts for My Hero Academia's 10th Anniversary

First up in October are five short-sleeve My Hero Academia T-shirts at 980 yen (about $7) each, timed to the anime's 10th anniversary. The lineup includes a gray-beige design themed on Izuku Midoriya, a dark gray one for Katsuki Bakugo, two black shirts built around Class 1-A silhouettes and names, and a villains-motif black shirt.

Workman says the line is meant to cheer on working people and push their daily lives "Plus Ultra," which is a fitting motto to borrow for a brand that literally outfits Japan's workforce.

Maomao Gets a Medicine Notebook Case, Naturally

The Apothecary Diaries items arrive from late November, with the anime's third season starting this fall. The headliner is Workman's first-ever medicine notebook case (four designs, 1,500 yen, about $10). In Japan, an okusuri techo is a small booklet pharmacies use to track your prescriptions, which makes it just about the perfect merch category for a series whose heroine is an apothecary. Colorways include a wine-red-and-green combination for Maomao, navy for Jinshi, and beige for Maomao the kitten (毛毛), and the case comes with mesh and card pockets that Workman pitches for both daily use and travel.

The rest of the line covers five print T-shirts (980 yen each), five handkerchief-and-pouch sets (980 yen each), and four wallet shoulder bags (2,500 yen, about $17).

Jujutsu Kaisen Sweats Expand Their Domain in December

December brings the Jujutsu Kaisen sweatshirts, four designs at 1,900 yen (about $13) each. The announcement borrows the series' own vocabulary, promising the sweats will stage a "domain expansion" into stores nationwide and exorcise the winter curse of being unable to leave your futon or kotatsu, the heated table Japanese households huddle under all winter.

Colorways cover Yuji Itadori in gray, Naoya Zenin in navy, Choso in black, and a fourth black design built from series icons. As the report notes, production is also confirmed on a fourth TV season covering the second half of the Culling Game arc, so the franchise will stay busy well past sweater season.

Looking Ahead

The full schedule: My Hero Academia T-shirts in October, The Apothecary Diaries items from late November, and Jujutsu Kaisen sweatshirts in December, all sold at Workman stores across Japan. Nothing has been announced about overseas sales, so fans outside Japan will likely need a proxy shipping service to get their hands on any of it.

The anime themselves are easier to reach. All three series stream internationally on Crunchyroll, and The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 kicks off this fall in Japan.
