The season pits Rimuru against Granbell Rosso, a former hero who heads the Five Elders of the Kingdom of Siltrosso, and his granddaughter Mariabell Rosso. The pair preaches protecting humanity through control, sees Rimuru's rise as a demon lord as a threat, and is maneuvering toward a collision with him. The season's official introduction also teases that, while demon lord Leon makes his own moves in the golden land of El Dorado, a hero is on the verge of awakening. Whether episode 16 (episode 88 overall) actually digs into Granbell's hero days won't be clear until it airs; the synopsis keeps that part under wraps. Daisuke Ono voices Granbell, with Inori Minase as Mariabell.
A Music Festival Hosted by a Demon Lord
The setup reads like a diplomatic breather for Rimuru, at least on the surface. He and his companions are guests in Lubelius, the Holy Empire tied to Luminous, and the festival is her own idea. The invitation comes at night, one on one, and the source doesn't say what Luminous wants to discuss. Dengeki's report pairs the synopsis with a gallery of new scene stills from the episode.
The credits lean on Season 4's core team. Series composition writer Hitomi Ogawa scripted the episode herself, 大脊戸聡 (likely Satoshi Ōsedo) handled both storyboards and episode direction, and a three-person chief animation director team supervises the visuals. Miho Okasaki returns as Rimuru, and Lynn voices Luminous.
Season 4 Is a Five-Cour Marathon
Naokatsu Tsuda (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) directs Season 4 at Eight Bit, the studio that has animated the series from the start. The season runs as a split five-cour production, with the first two cours airing back to back: broadcasts began April 3, 2026, in Nippon TV's Friday Anime Night block, Fridays at 11:00 p.m. across a 30-station network, and the second cour kicked off July 3. BS11 carries the show Saturdays at 10:00 p.m.
The anime adapts Taiki Kawakami's manga version of Fuse's story, serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine, with character designs by Mitz Vah.
