The Second Trailer Puts the Whole Platoon on Screen
Keroro Gunso☆ (ケロロ軍曹☆, known in English as Sgt. Frog) is a new TV adaptation of Mine Yoshizaki's manga, and the setup is the one longtime fans know: Sergeant Keroro, a Keronian alien, comes to Earth to invade it and instead ends up dragging Earthlings like Fuyuki Hinata into his chaotic, anything-but-ordinary daily life. The second trailer, posted to the official Keroro Channel on YouTube, runs through the platoon's slapstick routine with its human companions. According to Japanese anime news site Anime! Anime!, the video is also the first public airing of both theme songs.
BN Pictures handles animation production. Akihiko Sano directs under chief director Nobuhiro Kondō, Toshimitsu Takeuchi writes the series composition, Hatsue Nakayama designs the characters, and Kan Sawada composes the score. None of that is in the Anime! Anime! piece itself, but the staff list has been public since the show's earlier announcements.
Five New Voices for the Human Side of the Cast
The headline addition is the human cast that surrounds the Keroro Platoon. Yūki Sakakihara (榊原優希), who voices Kirara Hoshi in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, plays Fuyuki Hinata. Minori Fujidera (藤寺美徳) is Natsumi Hinata. Sumire Morohoshi (諸星すみれ), Emma in The Promised Neverland, takes on Momoka Nishizawa. Hiiro Ishibashi (石橋陽彩) voices Mutsumi Hōjō, and Koko (香々), previously credited as Koko Fukushima, rounds out the five as Koyuki Azumaya.
They join the alien squad announced earlier this month: Makoto Koichi as Keroro, Rika Nagae as Private Tamama and Toshiki Masuda as Corporal Giroro, with Kōsuke Echigoya and Satoshi Inomata as Kululu and Dororo. The whole show is recast from the 2004 series, so this batch completes the core lineup.
ano and PURPLE BUBBLE Handle the Theme Songs
The opening theme is "Kirai nochi Suki!" (キライのちスキ！, roughly "Dislike, Then Like!"), written by ano specifically for the show. Western viewers may know her from "Chu, Tayousei," one of the ending themes for Chainsaw Man. In her comment, ano said she wrote the song around the power of purely liking something by your own measure rather than the world's. That kind of liking, she added, ends up making you like yourself, too. She also described herself as a Keroro fan since childhood who is serving as the show's promotional captain.
The ending theme, "Himitsu no Panorama" (秘密のパノラマ, "Secret Panorama"), comes from PURPLE BUBBLE, a four-piece rock band making their major-label debut on Toy's Factory in October. The song is that debut single, written for the series around the theme of friendship, everyday life and the memories that matter. The band said they grew up watching Keroro as kids and are thrilled to be part of it through music.
Where and When to Watch
Keroro Gunso☆ premieres Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. on TV Tokyo and five affiliated stations, per the Anime! Anime! report. Inside Japan, Hulu, U-NEXT and Anime Hodai stream it the same day, with ABEMA, d Anime Store, DMM TV, FOD, Bandai Channel and others following on October 6 and TVer catch-up from October 9.
No international streaming partner has been announced yet. For context, the original Sunrise-produced series ran 358 episodes from 2004 to 2011, and Discotek Media currently holds its North American home video license. The manga's English release stalled at 20 volumes when Tokyopop shut down in 2011, and no new English publisher has been confirmed for the source material.
