Sukuna Gets the Whole Frame, and a Menacing Tagline
The new artwork keeps things simple and threatening. According to Japanese anime news site Anime Hack, the visual shows Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses voiced by Junichi Suwabe, glaring out from dim water and stretching a hand toward the viewer. Beside him sits the line 「覚えているか 面白いものが見れると言ったろう」, which translates roughly to "Do you remember? I told you you'd get to see something interesting."
The franchise is billing this as a "super teaser visual," and it plays that role straight: no date, no character lineup, no episode count. Just Sukuna, underwater, making a promise.
MAPPA Hands the Director's Chair to Takeru Satō
The production side of Part 2 was already set earlier this year. MAPPA returns as the animation studio, and Takeru Satō (佐藤威), who served as assistant director on The Culling Game Part 1, steps up to direct the new season. Shota Goshozono, who directed Part 1, stays involved as chief director, and Hiroshi Seko (Ajin, Dan Da Dan) continues to write and oversee the series scripts.
A teaser PV released in June 2026 on the TOHO animation YouTube channel confirmed the season is in production, though it stopped short of naming a release window. This Sukuna visual is the first new tease since then.
Where the Story Stands
Gege Akutami's battle-action manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from 2018 to 2024. The story follows Yuji Itadori (voiced by Junya Enoki), a high schooler who swallows one of Sukuna's cursed fingers, taking the special-grade cursed spirit into his own body, and throws himself into the fight alongside his comrades at Tokyo Jujutsu High.
The anime's first season aired in 2020, and Season 2 covered the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death and Shibuya Incident arcs in 2023. Per the Anime Hack report, the theatrical film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 opened in October 2025 and went on to gross ¥26.5 billion (approx. $180 million) worldwide. Season 3, The Culling Game Part 1, aired from January to March 2026.
Part 2 picks up the Culling Game itself: the kill-or-be-killed competition among cursed-technique users that Kenjaku set in motion, which the source says is about to enter a new phase.
Looking Ahead
The missing piece is still a broadcast date. As of the June teaser, MAPPA would only say the season is in production, and this new visual doesn't change that.
International access is at least a settled question. Crunchyroll streams the Jujutsu Kaisen anime worldwide excluding Asia, and the completed manga is available in English from Viz Media. Until a premiere window lands, the teaser PV and this super teaser visual are everything MAPPA is showing of the Culling Game's endgame.
