The second season of the Tougen Anki TV anime, subtitled Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, was set to begin airing on October 2, 2026 at 11:30 p.m. JST on Nippon TV's FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT block across 30 stations nationwide, and to run as a split two-cour with the second cour scheduled for April 2027, according to an eeo report.

BS Nittele is scheduled to carry the season from October 5, Mondays at 11:30 p.m. JST. Within Japan, ABEMA, d Anime Store, U-NEXT and Anime Hodai are set to stream episodes first, Fridays from 24:30 (12:30 a.m. JST), with other platforms following in sequence from October 5 and TVer from October 8.

Three voice actors joined for the new arc: Kenichi Suzumura as Kusabi Momoura, Yūki Kaji as Hizumi Momotsugi, and Kishō Taniyama as Senritsu Momoo. All three are new characters in the Momotarō Kikan, the organization that opposes the Oni Kikan that Shiki and his classmates belong to.

The announcement also set the theme songs. Hiromitsu Kitayama performs the opening theme "BACKLASH," and TRACK15 performs the ending theme "Te to Te." A new promotional video uses portions of both songs and gives an early look at characters who first appear in this arc. The accompanying key visual shows Shiki and three other characters in front of the suspicious research facility that serves as the arc's setting.

Ahead of the premiere, special edited versions of the first season were scheduled on Nippon TV: the Kyoto arc on September 30 from 25:35 (1:35 a.m. JST) and the Nerima arc on October 1 at the same time, each followed by streaming on various platforms from 26:05. The first season ran for two consecutive cours from July 2025, covering those same two arcs.
