Coach Nekomata Finally Gets His Own Figure
After years of Kenma and Kuroo dominating Haikyu!! merchandise, Nekoma's beloved coach is getting his moment. The C Prize in this new FuRyu Kuji lottery is a "noodle stopper figure" of Coach Nekomata — his first-ever figure release. The design shows him watching over a match, and in true noodle stopper fashion, he can perch on the edge of your cup ramen to hold the lid down, or hook onto a desk or laptop corner.
It's a deeply specific piece of merch that captures exactly why fans love the old coach: he's calm, he's watchful, and apparently he's now useful around the kitchen.
The Full Nekoma Lineup
The lottery's top prizes go to Nekoma's star duo. Prize A features Kenma Kozume and Prize B features Tetsuro Kuroo, both in their red second uniforms with gym-floor base stands. These are full figures, not chibi or deformed versions.
Prize D takes a fun angle — plush mascots of Kenma, Taketora Yamamoto, and Shohei Fukunaga recreating their first-year fight scene. Prize E offers "cat toy tail keychains" in 11 varieties, each designed around a different player's animal motif. Given that Nekoma literally means "stray cat," the theming tracks perfectly.
The F Prize dialogue stamp set (13 types) uses original deformed illustrations with phrases like "Reward time" and "Overprotective and proud of it!" alongside everyday phrases like "Thanks" and "Got it." Prize G rounds things out with acrylic stands inspired by Nekoma's iconic banner "繋げ" (Connect) — collect all 13 and they link into a circle.
Rare Prizes and How to Win Them
The Last Get Prize (awarded to whoever buys the final ticket in a set) is an alternate-expression version of the Kenma figure. The Double Get Prize is another Coach Nekomata noodle stopper, awarded via lottery: 50 winners from in-store half-ticket ID entries and 5 from FuRyu Kuji ONLINE purchases.
Each draw costs 790 yen (roughly $5.50 USD).
Looking Ahead
The lottery launches June 13, 2026 at FamilyMart, Lawson, hobby shops, and bookstores across Japan, with online sales following on June 19 via FuRyu Kuji ONLINE. As with most Japanese convenience store lottery merchandise, international availability is unlikely — proxy shopping services like Buyee or Zenmarket are typically the route for overseas fans looking to grab these.
The Haikyu!! franchise continues to maintain an active merchandise schedule following the theatrical films. The source manga by Haruichi Furudate is published in English by Viz Media, and the anime series streams on Crunchyroll in most territories.
