The Full Crew Is Ready for the Moon
TMS Entertainment (Detective Conan, Lupin III) has been rolling out a clever promotional gimmick for Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE's final stretch. Each week as the 3rd cour has aired, the show's climax visual has gained a new astronaut, building toward the full crew that will face Why-man on the lunar surface. With Episode 35's broadcast on June 11, the last piece snapped into place: Ryusui.
Japanese manga and anime news site Comic Natalie confirmed the completed visual now shows Senku, Kohaku, Stanley, and Ryusui suited up and ready for what the series frames as humanity's final battle. The visual's title says it all: "Astronauts All Assembled."
What the Moon Mission Means
Dr. STONE's moon mission represents the payoff to years of incremental scientific progress within the series. The 3rd cour picks up with the moon rocket, built through the combined efforts of civilizations around the world, finally launching into space. The destination: a direct confrontation with Why-man, the entity responsible for the petrification that wiped out human civilization thousands of years ago.
The series, based on the manga by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi serialized by Shueisha, has been building toward this endpoint since its earliest chapters. Yūsuke Kobayashi (Subaru Natsuki in Re:Zero, Arthur Boyle in Fire Force) leads the voice cast as Senku Ishigami. The full 3rd cour cast also includes Makoto Furukawa, Kana Ichinose, Manami Numakura, Yūichi Nakamura, Akira Ishida, Kenshō Ono, Maaya Sakamoto, and Megumi Han, among others.
Alongside the completed visual, TMS Entertainment also released a ROCKET Climax PV earlier this week that traces Senku and crew's path to space.
Looking Ahead
Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE's 3rd cour continues airing Thursdays at 10 PM on TOKYO MX and other Japanese stations. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series with both subtitles and an English dub for subscribers in North America, Europe, Latin America, Oceania, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The source manga is available in English from Viz Media, with the complete 26-volume series already published.
With all four astronauts now assembled in the key art and the moon in sight, every remaining episode is endgame territory for one of Shonen Jump's longest-running science adventures.
