Anya's Peanuts and a Bond You Can Eat
Character food tie-ins usually stop at printed packaging. This one puts the references in the food itself, according to a report from Japanese anime news site Anime Anime. Several dishes use peanuts, Anya's famous favorite food, and Bond, the Forger family's dog, appears as a three-dimensional figure sculpted from nerikiri, a traditional Japanese confection made of sweet bean paste.
The box also comes with character-themed monaka soups (soup servings sealed inside crisp wafer shells) and sweet potato desserts, three of each, so a household of three can split everything evenly. Three pairs of celebratory chopsticks and a greeting card round out the set.
And yes, peanuts appear on the official allergen list, alongside egg, milk, wheat, shrimp, and walnuts. Anya would be proud.
Osechi for People Who Have Never Bought Osechi
Traditional osechi is packed with symbolic Japanese dishes like sweet black soybeans and herring roe. Belle Maison's Spy x Family version goes in a different direction: the two-tier box centers on Western hors d'oeuvre-style items such as "truffle & le pain," a lineup Anime Anime says is designed for people who have little experience with osechi or are buying one for the first time.
The practical details: the set costs ¥21,900 (tax included), serves three, and comes in a roughly 16.5 x 16.5 x 10.4 cm two-tier box. It is made in Japan, ships frozen, and keeps until January 31, 2027, so it will comfortably survive until New Year's Day. Orders placed between August 3 and September 30, 2026 get a 5% discount.
The Forgers Stay Busy Between Seasons
Tatsuya Endo's manga runs on Shonen Jump+, Shueisha's manga app, and follows the master spy Twilight, who poses as psychiatrist Loid Forger and assembles a fake family for a mission. His adopted daughter Anya secretly reads minds, and his contract wife Yor moonlights as an assassin.
The TV anime is a co-production between Wit Studio and CloverWorks. Season 1 premiered in April 2022, Season 2 followed in October 2023, and Season 3 kicked off on October 4, 2025. The theatrical film Spy x Family Code: White opened in Japan in December 2023 and became a major box-office hit.
An osechi is a natural fit for a series whose whole premise is a found family sharing a table, and food gags, peanuts above all, have been part of Anya's character since chapter one.
