MYTH & ROID Picks Up Where 'JINGO JUNGLE' Left Off
The second key visual, unveiled by Japanese entertainment news site Comic Natalie, centers on a towering Tanya conducting with a baton while Imperial Army leaders Zettour and Rudersdorf stand at her sides.
MYTH & ROID returns to perform the opening theme, titled "Why? RED induction." The band delivered Season 1's OP "JINGO JUNGLE" and the 2019 movie's theme "Remembrance." In a statement published by Comic Natalie, the group described the new track as inheriting "JINGO JUNGLE"'s raw energy while adding a heavier layer of seriousness and sorrow for Season 2. They pointed to the song's core tension: the powerlessness and cynicism of watching an endless war, undercut by a stubborn refusal to stop surviving.
The ending theme, "Weiter! Weiter!" (German for "onward"), is performed by Aoi Yūki (Madoka Kaname in Puella Magi Madoka Magica) in character as Tanya Degurechaff.
'Youjo Shenki 2' Fills in the Gaps
A sequel to the chibi-style mini anime Youjo Shenki (ようじょしぇんき) will air on AT-X after the main episode under the title Youjo Shenki 2. The shorts will also post weekly on YouTube's KADOKAWA Anime Channel every Wednesday at midnight.
The mini anime follows the newly assembled Salamander Kampfgruppe as it takes on fresh members. Weiss deals with undertrained recruits while Tanya confronts logistical headaches ahead of winter. The announcement describes these as stories the main series doesn't have room to cover.
Saga of Tanya the Evil follows Tanya Degurechaff, an elite military mage who also happens to be a young girl. She fights on the front lines of a conflict modeled on World War I-era Europe, struggling to survive while leveraging her exceptional combat ability. Season 2 sees her appointed commander of the newly formed Salamander Kampfgruppe and marching into another brutal campaign.
Studio NUT, which has handled the franchise since its 2017 debut (including the 2019 theatrical film), returns for Season 2 with Takayuki Yamamoto directing and Kenta Ihara on series composition. The voice cast features Saori Hayami (Yor Forger in Spy x Family) as Viktoriya, Tomokazu Sugita as Mikel, Yōko Hikasa as Liliya, Haruka Tomatsu as Mary, and veterans Tesshō Genda and Hōchū Ōtsuka as Rudersdorf and Zettour.
