FLOW Brings "Sorrow" to Season 2
FLOW ("GO!!!" from Naruto, "Colors" from Code Geass) performed "GET BACK" for the first season and will follow it up with "Sorrow" for Season 2, Japanese entertainment news site Comic Natalie reported.
In a statement, FLOW described the new song as an expression of the strength that comes from truly knowing pain and sorrow, reflecting the increasingly intense battles Desir Arman and his companions face. The band noted they wrote "Sorrow" as a companion piece to the characters' ongoing struggle.
What's the Show About
A Returner's Magic Should Be Special follows Desir Arman, a survivor of humanity's destruction at the hands of the interdimensional "Shadow World." After witnessing the end, Desir is thrown 13 years into the past, where he sets out to gather allies and rewrite fate before the apocalypse arrives again. The series is based on the Korean webcomic by Wookjakga and Usonan, published by D&C MEDIA.
Season 2 retains the same core staff: director Kawaguchi Taishi returns alongside series composer Kōno Takamitsu and character designer Katō Hiromi at ARVO ANIMATION (We Never Learn, Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut). The production is credited to HAYATE.
Returning Cast
The main cast all reprise their roles:
- Terashima Takuma (Rimuru in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Shiroe in Log Horizon) as Desir Arman
- Suzushiro Sayumi as Romantica Eru
- Fujiwara Natsumi as Pram Schneizer
- Seto Asami as Adjest Kingscrown
A new teaser visual and promotional video were released alongside the announcement, showing Desir ready for the escalating conflicts ahead.
Looking Ahead
A Returner's Magic Should Be Special Season 2 premieres in October 2026 on Fuji TV's +Ultra block, airing Wednesdays at 24:45 (12:45 AM). For viewers who want to catch up or revisit Season 1, Fuji TV will rerun the first season starting July 2, 2026.
Season 1 streamed on Crunchyroll internationally, making it likely Season 2 will follow the same distribution path, though no international streaming partner has been officially confirmed for the new season yet. The +Ultra block has historically been a home for anime with international co-distribution (Vinland Saga, Dr. Stone: New World aired there), so global availability seems probable.
