Kimono Art on Everything, Down to the Chopsticks

The big draw this year is the artwork. Every extra in the set uses illustrations drawn specifically for this osechi, the traditional Japanese New Year's feast, according to Japanese anime news site Anime Anime. The centerpiece is the two-tier jubako (stacked lacquer boxes) finished in Kaga's Ishikawa-nuri lacquerware style and printed with the Straw Hat crew dressed in formal kimono for the New Year.

The rest of the extras reach surprisingly deep into the cast. A ceramic plate shows Nico Robin in her holiday best beside a smiling Jaguar D. Saul. The disposable chopsticks carry a line from Brook rendered in laser engraving. Cross Guild gets its own placemat, with Buggy, Crocodile, and Mihawk sharing the frame. A set of paper food picks rounds things out with Luffy, Chopper, the Thousand Sunny, and the One Piece logo.

A Seafood Tier for the Crew and a Meat Tier for Luffy

The food comes in two tiers totaling 32 dishes. The first, the "Pirate Seafood Tier," is built on New Year's staples: shrimp, herring roe, soy-marinated salmon roe, sweet rolled omelet, chestnut kinton, and black soybeans. The second tier belongs to the captain. "Luffy's Meat Tier" centers on the meat dishes Luffy loves, alongside Western-style crowd-pleasers like terrines and pastry-wrapped items meant to appeal to kids and younger eaters.

An osechi maker in business for more than 120 years supervised and selected the ingredients, and the set is sold by Ichifuji, a Japanese catering company. It ships refrigerated and already plated, arriving on December 31, 2026, so it can go straight from the delivery box to the New Year's table with no thawing or arranging. The full set runs ¥20,900 with tax and shipping included, and it carries a use-by time of 11:00 p.m. on January 1, 2027. Each tier measures 19.8 by 19.8 centimeters.

Eleven Years of One Piece at the New Year's Table

This is the 11th year for the One Piece osechi, which has become a fixture of the franchise's calendar in Japan. The numbers behind that franchise keep climbing: Eiichiro Oda's manga has run in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997, and its worldwide circulation topped 600 million copies as of March 2026, with more than 450 million in Japan and over 150 million overseas.

The TV anime side is just as busy. The series has aired on Fuji TV since 1999, passed its 25th anniversary in 2024, and entered the Elbaf arc in April 2026. Netflix's live-action adaptation is streaming through season 2, with season 3 planned for 2027.

Looking Ahead

Preorders opened at around 10:00 a.m. on September 1, 2026 through the official One Piece Osechi site, and the set is limited in quantity, with sales running until it sells out. An early-bird discount is available on the official site through the end of September. Per Ichifuji's press release, reservations are also being taken at ONE PIECE Mugiwara Store locations, the franchise's official retail chain, and at select department stores.

Delivery is set for December 31, 2026 only, and the source doesn't mention overseas shipping, so this looks like a Japan-only order. For fans elsewhere, the Elbaf arc is airing weekly in Japan, and the manga is published in English by Viz Media, whose simultaneous chapter releases run on the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus apps.
