Theme Songs From the Slam Dunk and Attack on Titan Playbooks
The new trailer is the first place anyone can hear either of Season 2's theme songs. The opening, "Fortress Defence," comes from rock band 10-FEET, who wrote "Dai Zero Kan," the ending theme of the 2022 film The First Slam Dunk. The ending theme, "Triangle," is by singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi, whose "Akuma no Ko" closed out Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2.
Both artists were announced in June alongside the season's main visual. The trailer itself went live on September 2, according to a report from Japanese entertainment-news outlet Oricon News, and snippets of both songs play over the footage.
TMS Entertainment Takes Over From Production I.G
The PV arrived with the season's main staff list, and it confirms a studio change. Production I.G animated Season 1's 24 episodes, which aired from April to September 2022. Season 2 moves animation production to TMS Entertainment (Detective Conan, Lupin III).
Kazuki Yokoyama directs, while two key Season 1 names carry over: Masahiro Yokotani returns on series composition and Masaru Yokoyama is back on music. Manabu Nakatake, Asami Taguchi, and Junko Yamanaka share character design and chief animation director credits, with Shoji Hata handling sound direction.
A Trailer About Hitting a Wall
Per the Oricon News report, the PV shows Ashito and his teammates tearing across the pitch while wrestling with setbacks, jealousy, inner conflict, and impatience. Season 2 covers the story's A-team arc, with Ashito's newly promoted group confronting the speed of the youth Premier League, the top division for club academy teams.
Koki Osuzu leads the voice cast as Ashito Aoi, alongside Taku Yashiro as Keiji Togashi and Shun Horie as Kanpei Kuroda. The series adapts Yugo Kobayashi's soccer manga about a young player recruited into the Tokyo City Esperion youth academy. The manga ran in Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits from 2015 and finished in August 2025 with volume 40, with over 25 million copies in circulation.
Looking Ahead
Aoashi Season 2 premieres October 4, 2026 on NHK's educational channel E-Tele, airing Sundays at 5:00 p.m. in Japan. No international streaming partner has been announced yet. Season 1 streams on Crunchyroll with subtitles and an English dub, so that is the service to watch for a pickup. There is also no word yet on full-length releases for "Fortress Defence" or "Triangle"; for now, the trailer is the only place to hear them.
