Kayano and Uchiyama Join the Faculty
Both new additions play teachers at the military academy where the series takes place. Ai Kayano (Menma in Anohana, Darkness in KonoSuba) voices Omi, a teacher who instructs students in methods of killing. In her official comment via Dengeki Online, Kayano described Omi as someone whose seemingly emotionless eyes hide something difficult to put into words. "She teaches students how to kill," Kayano said. "You could also say she teaches them how to survive."
Yumi Uchiyama (Puck in Re:Zero, young Rudeus in Mushoku Tensei) takes on Fran, a teacher whose quiet strength and warmth contrast with the school's brutality. Uchiyama said the source material's blend of fragility and warmth moved her deeply, and that she's focused on conveying the gentleness behind Fran's watchful gaze.
A School Where Death Is Normal
I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day (きみが死ぬまで恋をしたい) adapts Nachi Aono's manga, currently serialized in Ichijinsha's yuri manga magazine Comic Yuri Hime. The story follows girls at a school that raises orphaned children as weapons of war. Lessons cover killing. Death is a daily occurrence that nobody is allowed to grieve. For everyone at the school, this bleak existence is simply how the world works.
Fourteen-year-old Sheena can't accept any of it. One night she encounters a blood-covered little girl named Mimi, and their meeting sets everything in motion.
The anime is produced at ROLL2 with Yasushi Tomoda directing. Jukki Hanada, whose credits include A Place Further Than the Universe and Sound! Euphonium, handles series composition and scripts. The previously announced main cast features Rie Takahashi (Megumin in KonoSuba, Emilia in Re:Zero) as Sheena, Rina Hidaka as Mimi, Asami Seto as Lizzy Seiran, and Yui Ishikawa as Maude Ali.
'Amore' and 'Éternel'
The newly released second PV gives listeners their first taste of the opening theme "Amore," performed by ReoNa. The singer, known for her contributions to the Sword Art Online franchise, shared that she first picked up the manga six years ago and read through three volumes without stopping. She described "Amore" as a song about how sharing your limited time with someone is itself a form of love.
Ending theme "Éternel" (French for "eternal") comes from sajou no hana, with lyrics by sana. The group said they struggled with what to write for a story where death is always present, and ultimately chose to capture the preciousness of time spent with the people around you.
