The Anime Edition Wears Official Tokyo Revengers Art
JO1 shared the anime-edition cover of AAO on September 3 via Japanese chart-tracker Oricon News. The credit line on the artwork names Tokyo Revengers creator Ken Wakui, publisher Kodansha, and the anime's production committee alongside JO1's agency LAPONE Entertainment, which points to official series art on the cover in place of the usual member photo.
Anime-edition jackets are standard for theme-song singles in Japan, and the pairing makes sense here. IGNITE, the title track of AAO, is the opening theme for Tokyo Revengers: Three Deities Arc (三天戦争編), the final chapter of the anime adaptation of Wakui's time-traveling delinquent saga.
IGNITE Opens the Final War in October
Three Deities Arc premieres October 2, 2026, airing Fridays in the late-night Animeism block shared by broadcasters MBS, TBS, and CBC, along with anime channel AT-X. LIDENFILMS, the studio behind every previous season of Tokyo Revengers, returns for the finale. The story picks up after Mikey disbands the Tokyo Manji Gang, with three rival factions now fighting for dominance. Cast additions announced earlier this year include Mariya Ise as Senju Kawaragi.
JO1, the 11-member group formed through the 2019 audition show Produce 101 Japan, also has a hand in the song itself. Members Junki Kono and Shoya Kimata co-wrote the lyrics for IGNITE. In the announcement on JO1's official site, Kono described wanting the song to capture protagonist Takemichi's refusal to stay down, no matter how badly the odds are stacked against him.
Three Dates to Watch
The rollout runs on three dates. IGNITE arrives on streaming services September 9, 2026, nearly a month before the anime premiere. Three Deities Arc starts broadcasting in Japan on October 2 and streams exclusively on Disney+ worldwide from October 3, Japan time, so international fans will not need to wait for a separate licensing announcement. The AAO single follows on November 18, with CD pre-order details still to come.
Wakui's manga finished its run in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2022 and is available in English from the same publisher, so readers can finish the Three Deities storyline before the anime catches up.
