Born From Notes to the Teacher
In Japan, a mimashita hanko is the small "I saw this" stamp that teachers and parents press onto homework, reading logs, and home-school contact notebooks to confirm something has been checked. According to Japanese anime news site Anime Anime, the Haikyu!! version was planned after fans asked whether there was a stamp they could use in exchanges with their teachers.
The result, officially called Haikyu!! Mimashita Hanko, pairs that everyday classroom ritual with artwork from the volleyball anime. The maker also suggests wider uses: workplace sticky notes, memos, and shared documents that need a quick sign-off. The idea is that a routine acknowledgment lands a little softer when it arrives with a tiny Karasuno character attached.
20 Animal Mascots Join the 24 Chibi Characters
The second wave adds 20 animal mascot designs to the 24 chibi character stamps released in late August, bringing the lineup to 44 illustrations covering Karasuno, Nekoma, and more. Each illustration pairs with one of seven text options, including "Mimashita" (seen it), "Sugoi!" (amazing), and "OK!", for a total of 308 possible combinations.
The stamps measure 10mm across, with nine body colors and four ink colors to choose from. Each one costs ¥2,600 and is available now through the Japanese e-commerce site Rakuten Ichiba, online stamp retailer Hankos, and other web shops.
Merch From a Franchise Still Climbing
Haruichi Furudate's volleyball manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2012 for eight and a half years, and its collected volumes have topped 75 million copies in circulation. The TV anime launched in 2014 and ran four seasons through December 2020, building a global fanbase along the way.
Then came February 2024's Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle, the theatrical showdown between Karasuno and longtime rival Nekoma. The film grossed over ¥20 billion (approx. $135 million) worldwide and took an Excellent Animation of the Year prize at the Japan Academy Film Prize. A sequel film, Haikyu!! VS. The Little Giant, and a special anime, Haikyu!! Bakemono-tachi no Iku Tokoro (Where the Monsters Go), are both in production, with a TV broadcast already confirmed for the special.
Looking Ahead
The stamps are on sale now, but only through Japanese online shops; no international distribution has been announced. The anime itself is much easier to reach, streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
As for the franchise's next screen outings, the special anime's action PV, posted in August on the series' official channel, carries a "match begins in 2027" tagline. Between the sequel film, the special, and a steady stream of goods like these stamps, Haikyu!! is heading into 2027 with plenty on the schedule.
