Announced One Week Before the Manga's Finale
The adaptation news comes at a striking point in the manga's life. According to Japanese entertainment news site Comic Natalie, Yurayura Q ends its main story in the issue of The Hana to Yume on sale July 27, 2026, seven days after the anime announcement. The series isn't disappearing, though. A side-story series is planned for Hana to Yume, The Hana to Yume's parent shojo magazine, and five collected volumes are out now from Hakusensha.
The announcement itself is a teaser visual of the heroine Kyūko popping into frame from below, plus the green light. That's the whole reveal for now. No studio, staff, voice cast, or broadcast window has been named.
To celebrate, Hakusensha is running a free-reading campaign: the first two volumes of Yurayura Q are available at no charge on Hana to Yume+, the publisher's official manga site, from July 20 through August 3, 2026.
A Fox Girl Who Can't Master Her Own Powers
Yurayura Q is a heartwarming comedy about Kyūko, a high school girl born to a human and a fox. Her eight older siblings are all effortlessly talented, while Kyūko struggles with the one thing a fox is supposed to be good at: she can't properly use her shapeshifting powers. She frets about being the ordinary one in an extraordinary family, and her childhood friend Haru-chan keeps her going. The manga has run in The Hana to Yume since 2019.
Author Gido Amagakure is best known internationally for Sweetness & Lightning, the single-dad cooking manga whose 2016 TV anime streamed on Crunchyroll, and more recently for A Galaxy Next Door. Yurayura Q marks a return to the supernatural-family territory that runs through much of her work, this time as a shojo comedy.
Looking Ahead
There isn't much concrete to circle on the calendar yet. The production has revealed nothing beyond the teaser visual, so studio, director, cast, and premiere timing are all open questions. An official X account for the anime, @yurayuraQ_anime, is already live and is the place to watch for the next reveal. No trailer exists yet.
On the international side, no streaming partner has been announced. The manga also has no English edition so far; Anime News Network's database lists no North American publisher for Yurayura Q, though Amagakure's earlier series are available in English.
