A Fluffy Kobold and a Battle-Scarred Guild Master
The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World (捨てられ聖女の異世界ごはん旅 隠れスキルでキャンピングカーを召喚しました) has added two new voices to its cast ahead of its July premiere. Dengeki Online reported that Yukari Tamura (Rika Furude in Higurashi: When They Cry, Nui Harime in Kill la Kill) will play Sheila, while Kanehira Yamamoto (Rigurd in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) voices Tori.
Sheila is a kobold who works the front desk at the adventurer's guild in the town of Elrage. Don't let the fluffy exterior fool you: she's a 20-year veteran of the job and the kind of dependable, attentive colleague everyone wants around. Tamura called the character "the embodiment of cuteness" in her official comment, adding that she hopes audiences feel the same way.
Tori is the guild master, complete with a cross-shaped facial scar, an eye patch, and the kind of imposing physique that screams "don't start trouble in my guild." He's blunt but perceptive, and apparently can't win an argument against Sheila. Yamamoto joked in his comment that the show's food scenes are dangerously appetizing, warning viewers to watch their calorie intake.
About the Series
Based on the light novel by Yoneori (米織), published by Kadokawa Books with over 600,000 copies in circulation, the story follows Rin Takanashi, a late-twenties office worker who gets summoned to another world alongside a beautiful high school girl. The summoners keep the high schooler and toss Rin out, deeming her skills worthless. Turns out they were wrong. Rin's "Motor House" skill conjures a fully equipped magical camping car, and her "Survival" skill is anything but trash. She sets off on a solo camping and cooking road trip across a fantasy world, picking up companions along the way.
The anime is produced at EMT Squared, directed by Atsushi Nigorikawa (濁川敦) with series composition by Takashi Aoshima (あおしまたかし). Akane Nitō (仁藤あかね) provides the original character designs, adapted for animation by Izumi Ishii (石井泉). INUWASI performs the opening theme "Butterfly," and Onkan Remoneido (音感れもねゐど) handles the ending theme "Holy Sweet Home."
The previously announced main cast includes Sora Tokui (Nico Yazawa in Love Live!) as protagonist Rin, Yuki Ono as Vil, Sumire Morohoshi (Emma in The Promised Neverland) as Aria, Shinnosuke Tachibana as Senon, Shōya Chiba as Ed, and Kaede Hondo as Gomamiso.
