Two Tuners Join the Season 2 Cast
Akari Komiyama voices Mia Whitlock, a member of the Tuners who carries the title "Priestess." Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo in My Hero Academia, Accelerator in A Certain Magical Index) voices Scarlet, another Tuner, billed as the "Vampire." Komiyama is the newer name of the two, having joined Sony Music Artists in 2022 after passing the agency's audition.
The report from Japanese anime news site Anime Anime pairs each actor with a character and a title and stops there; it does not say when Mia and Scarlet turn up.
From a July Slot to an October One
Season 2 was originally booked for July 2026. Production reasons pushed it back, and the new premiere is October 7, 2026, with TOKYO MX carrying it on Wednesdays at 22:30. BS Nittele, Nippon TV's satellite channel, runs it the same night at 24:30, and the anime channel AT-X airs it at 21:30, with repeats on Friday mornings at 9:30 and Tuesday afternoons at 15:30.
Domestic streaming starts on the d Anime Store subscription service, which gets each episode at 22:00 on Wednesday, half an hour ahead of the TV broadcast. Other Japanese services pick it up on Mondays at 22:00 starting October 12. AT-X is also running all 12 episodes of season 1 back to back on Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 to 15:00, a useful catch-up before the premiere.
The third trailer, posted to KADOKAWA's anime YouTube channel, also previews both theme songs: Koume's opening "Kono Shinzō ni Hanataba o" and Kagura Nana's ending "Hakuchūmu."
The Show Kimizuka Is Coming Back To
Season 1 aired from July to September 2021, so this is a five-year wait. The series adapts the light novels by nigozyu, illustrated by Umibouzu and published under KADOKAWA's MF Bunko J label; the original novel took the grand prize at the 15th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award.
The premise, per Anime Anime's rundown: Kimihiko Kimizuka is a boy with a knack for getting pulled into other people's trouble. He spent a stretch of chaotic days as assistant to Siesta, a girl who called herself a detective, then lost her and settled into an ordinary student life. The arrival of a single client drags him back in.
The main staff carries over from season 1 intact. Manabu Kurihara directs, Deko Akao handles series composition and scripts, Yōsuke Itō is on character design, and ENGI (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) animates. 40mP and Yuuyu handle the music, with Nobuyuki Abe as sound director.
The lead cast returns as well: Arata Nagai as Kimizuka, Saki Miyashita as Siesta, Ayana Taketatsu as Nagisa Natsunagi, Kanon Takao as Yui Saikawa, and Saho Shirasu as Charlotte Arisaka Anderson. Miyashita is credited twice on the season 2 list, once as Siesta and once as Noches. Mai Fuchigami (Fūbi Kase), Yumiri Hanamori (Hell), Maria Naganawa (Alicia), and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kōmori) round out the returning names.
Looking Ahead
No international streaming partner has been announced for season 2 yet. Season 1 is on Crunchyroll with subtitles and an English dub, after Funimation first streamed it in 2021, so that is where an announcement would most likely land.
