New Cast Additions
The two new cast members bring notable credits. Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki Sakata in Gintama, Joseph Joestar in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) takes on the role of Laswell (ラスウェル), while Megumi Han (Gon Freecss in Hunter x Hunter, Kana Arima in Oshi no Ko) voices Zaftie (ザフティエ), one of the Four Great Beast Kings.
Both actors shared comments about their roles, according to Japanese entertainment news site Comic Natalie. They join a returning ensemble led by Haruka Shiraishi as the hero Alicia, Mutsumi Tamura as Clen (Clevatess's human form), and Yūichi Nakamura as the titular Beast King himself.
Clevatess follows Alicia, a female hero, and Clevatess, a Beast King entrusted with a human baby. Season 2, subtitled "The King of Magical Beasts and the False Hero Legend," picks up the story this summer.
Third PV Drops with a Returning Opening Theme
Alongside the cast reveal, the anime's third promotional video went live on the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel. The PV features "Foreshadow," the new opening theme by Mayu Maeshima (前島麻由), who performed Season 1's opening as well.
A digest video recapping the first season also dropped. ABEMA announced a full Season 1 marathon starting June 10, 2026 at 8:00 AM JST ahead of the new season's launch.
Looking Ahead
Clevatess II premieres July 8, 2026 on TOKYO MX at 10:30 PM, rolling out across 27 stations nationwide. Domestic streaming is confirmed on d Anime Store, U-NEXT, and Anime Houdai, with AT-X also carrying the show.
Season 1 is currently available on Crunchyroll for international viewers, though no streaming partner has been confirmed for Season 2 outside Japan yet. The source manga by Yuji Iwahara (岩原裕二) is serialized on LINE Manga, a webtoon platform operated by LY Corporation.
The anime is produced at Lay-duce, with Kiyotaka Taguchi directing. Taguchi made his anime directorial debut with the first season of Clevatess after years helming entries in the Ultraman franchise, including Ultraman Z and Ultraman Blazar. Keigo Koyanagi handles series composition, with character designs by Sōichirō Sako.
