Original Costumes and a Standout Dancer Figure

Bandai Spirits' latest Ichiban Kuji, Japan's popular "guaranteed prize" lottery system, gives Maomao and Jinshi a wardrobe upgrade. The A Prize is a 22cm Maomao MASTERLISE figure posed in the dancer costume she wore during the Season 1 finale, captured mid-motion with enough detail to justify being the top-tier pull. According to Anime Anime's report, the figure conveys a sense of movement in the ribbons and skirt.

The B Prize acrylic board takes a different approach, pairing Maomao and Jinshi in brand-new original outfits with fans in hand. Maomao sports an unfamiliar hairstyle here, and the overall composition feels like a fresh take on the pair's dynamic.

Full Prize Breakdown

The lottery runs eight tiers deep, plus a Last One Prize for whoever draws the final ticket:

  • A Prize: Maomao MASTERLISE figure (22cm, dancer costume)
  • B Prize: Acrylic Board featuring Maomao and Jinshi in original outfits
  • C Prize: Acrylic Stand, choose between Maomao (11.5cm) or Jinshi (14cm)
  • D Prize: Chokonokko mini figures (4.5cm, random from 4 types with different expressions)
  • E Prize: Embroidered can badges (random from 6 types)
  • F Prize: Jacquard towels (choose from 6 types)
  • G Prize: Decorative plates (random from 10 types)
  • H Prize: Stationery assortment (choose from 6 types, including notebooks, sticky notes, and clear files)
  • Last One Prize: Maomao MASTERLISE OP Color ver., a glitter-painted variant that recreates the Season 1 opening sequence

The Last One Prize uses a shimmering glitter finish to evoke the colors of the anime's first opening theme visuals, making it a distinctly different piece from the A Prize despite sharing the same MASTERLISE sculpt base.

Draws cost 770 yen (tax included, roughly $5) and are available starting June 5 at Lawson, Ministop, Daily Yamazaki, other convenience stores, bookstores, and hobby shops across Japan. Ichiban Kuji ONLINE opens sales on June 8 at 5:00 PM JST. A Double Chance Campaign runs from launch through the end of September 2026, giving entrants a second shot at prizes via a separate online drawing.

What Is The Apothecary Diaries?

The Apothecary Diaries follows Maomao, a sharp-minded poison-taster in the imperial rear palace who keeps getting dragged into solving mysteries by the impossibly handsome eunuch Jinshi. Based on Natsu Hyuuga's light novel series (published under the Hero Bunko imprint), the anime's first season ran 24 episodes starting October 2023 and picked up a TVer Award 2023 Special Prize for its blend of mystery and court intrigue. Season 2 followed in January 2025 with a consecutive two-cour run.

Looking Ahead

The Apothecary Diaries has a packed schedule through early 2027. Season 3 premieres in October 2026 with a split-cour format, returning for its second half in April 2027. Sandwiched between those runs, the franchise's first theatrical film opens in December 2026, featuring a completely original story by author Natsu Hyuuga.

Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream Season 3, continuing the platform's run as the series' international home. No international theatrical distribution has been announced for the film.

For fans who want to dig into the source material, J-Novel Club publishes the original light novels in English, while Square Enix Manga & Books handles the primary manga adaptation (illustrated by Nekokurage, based on the Big Gangan serialization).

As for the Ichiban Kuji itself, Bandai Spirits lotteries occasionally appear at authorized international retailers in the US, UK, and parts of Europe, though no overseas rollout has been confirmed for this particular set. Collectors outside Japan may need to rely on proxy buying services or wait for export stock.
