Hancock, Smoker, and Lucci Join the Fray
USJ's annual One Piece live spectacle has been a summer fixture since 2007, but this year's guest roster is turning heads. Japanese entertainment site Oricon News reported that Boa Hancock and her Kuja Pirates will headline the 2026 Premier Show in a park-exclusive original story. Hancock hasn't graced the Water World stage since the Spring 2014 encore run, making this a 12-year comeback.
Smoker and Rob Lucci round out the villain slate. Details on how the three factor into the plot remain under wraps, but the show promises the franchise's signature "ultra-realistic" battles performed live in front of the audience. The Premier Show runs 84 performances across the event window, one show per day at 6:45 PM, with each performance lasting roughly 80 minutes.
USJ's 25th Anniversary Summer
The Premier Show is one leg of a three-attraction One Piece takeover tied to USJ's 25th anniversary, branded "Discover U!!!" Alongside the live show, Sanji's Pirate Restaurant returns at Lombard's Landing. The 85-minute dinner theater experience serves French-inspired courses while Straw Hat crew members banter with guests between dishes. Adult tickets run ¥7,000 (about $45), with entry handled through a lottery system that opened May 25.
The third attraction, One Piece x Story Ride, wraps an original Straw Hat adventure around the Hollywood Dream the Ride coaster. Guests pick their own background music before launch. The overlay runs on the standard forward-facing track only, not the Backdrop reverse layout.
Tickets and Pricing
Premier Show seating breaks into three tiers:
- S seats (premium, closest to the stage): ¥6,000 adults / ¥4,500 children (ages 4–11)
- A seats: ¥4,000 / ¥3,000
- B seats: ¥3,000 / ¥2,000
Children under 4 enter free. Tickets go on general sale June 10, 2026 at noon through USJ's web ticket store and Lawson Ticket. Annual pass holders with the top-tier "Grand Royal" pass got early access starting June 1.
For the full VIP treatment, USJ is selling a 25th Anniversary Special tour that bundles S-seat front-row access with guided park perks. That package starts at ¥22,000 for adults and ¥20,500 for children, also on sale June 10. A combo tour pairing the show with Sanji's restaurant runs ¥34,900 / ¥32,900 and goes on sale July 7.
Looking Ahead
The One Piece Premier Summer 2026 event runs July 30 through November 19 at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. With the One Piece anime currently deep into its Elbaf arc (which kicked off April 5, 2026) and the manga holding steady above 600 million copies in worldwide circulation, the franchise continues expanding its theme-park presence.
No English-language ticketing portal has been announced, but USJ accepts international visitors at the gate and through its Japanese web store. Premium seats sell out quickly, so mark the June 10 general sale.
