Erangel Is Getting Cursed

Most of this crossover lives on the map. South Korean publisher KRAFTON is adding Jujutsu Kaisen set dressing to parts of Erangel, PUBG's original battleground, instead of keeping the tie-in locked inside a cosmetics menu. PUBG's official collaboration rundown describes themed warehouse locations kitted out with character standees, photo spots and vending machines, plus billboards across the map redressed with Jujutsu Kaisen artwork.

KRAFTON's Japanese announcement also points to a trailer that cuts between the two properties, though the PR TIMES release stops short of detailing how far the in-match effects go beyond set dressing.

Four Characters in Japan, Six in the Global Breakdown

The Japanese release names four: Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki and Satoru Gojo, each tied to costumes and progressive weapon skins.

PUBG's English breakdown goes further and pairs the characters with specific guns. Itadori gets an SLR skin, Fushiguro gets VSS and Vector skins, and Gojo gets M24 and M416 skins. Kugisaki's entry is listed as a costume set. Two names the Japanese release leaves out turn up there as well: Suguru Geto and Ryomen Sukuna. Geto's is a full set covering helmet, hairstyle, markings, earrings and outfit.

Sukuna carries the headline item. The Ryomen Sukuna Beryl M762 is the collaboration's progressive weapon skin, a 10-level upgrade track that unlocks a basic appearance, a headshot kill stat, an inspect animation, component skins, a killfeed appearance, a deathbox skin and finally a kill effect. Reaching the top is a grind: the Draw Challenge event asks players to open 200 Ryomen Sukuna Contraband Crates.

The Calendar Splits by Platform

PC and console are on different clocks, as usual for PUBG updates. The PC window opens with the September 10, 2026 update and closes October 14, 2026. Console picks it up a week later, running September 17 through October 22, 2026.

Three event tracks sit inside those windows. The main PUBG x Jujutsu Kaisen mission set (September 10 to September 24 on PC, September 17 to October 1 on console) hands out Supply Loot Caches, Contraband Coupons and Cargo Tickets. The missions include entering the lobby, hitting collaboration boxes, visiting the themed warehouses and using the vending machines. The Collector runs the full window and pays out a Subway Station cosmetic for equipping four specific weapon skins. The Draw Challenge is the Sukuna skin track.

The Numbers Behind Both Sides

Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024, and KRAFTON's release puts the series past 100 million copies in circulation including digital editions. The premise maps onto a shooter without much translation work: curses born from negative human emotions, and the sorcerers who exorcise them. MAPPA's anime adaptation has aired on Japanese broadcasters MBS and TBS since 2020.

PUBG's side of the ledger holds up too. The battle royale, which drops up to 100 players onto a shrinking map until one player or squad is left standing, hit its ninth anniversary in 2026 and cleared 1.3 million peak concurrent players on Steam again in March 2026. KRAFTON says it intends to keep pursuing global IP crossovers as a growth path for the PUBG franchise, and its own press archive backs that up. PUBG MOBILE ran a Naruto Shippuden collaboration starting July 9, 2026, followed by a Spider-Man: Brand New Day tie-in at the end of that month.

Looking Ahead

The PC update lands September 10, 2026, with console following on September 17. Both windows shut in October, so the Sukuna Beryl M762 track is a timed climb rather than a permanent unlock. KRAFTON has not said whether any of the cosmetics return later.

Jujutsu Kaisen streams internationally on Crunchyroll and Netflix, with Hulu carrying it in the US, and Akutami's manga is published in English by Viz Media. The series is credited to Gege Akutami, Shueisha and the Jujutsu Kaisen production committee, and the PUBG collaboration assets carry that same credit line.
