Usopp Finally Gets to Tell the Story His Way
The premise is pure Usopp. According to the announcement on One Piece.com, the franchise's official news portal, the special has the crew's resident liar regaling Chopper, who has only just joined at Drum Island, with the story of everything that happened from the East Blue into the Grand Line. In Usopp's version, the details get piled on thick.
That means the fights against Mihawk and the Arlong crew show up in "dramatized" form, and the special promises scenes you would never see in the original. The announcement plays up the comedy that comes naturally to the LEGO format, so expect the tone to sit closer to a LEGO movie than to the anime proper.
The teaser trailer is up now on Netflix's official YouTube channel, and One Piece.com is hosting the Japanese-dubbed version alongside the new teaser visual.
Both Straw Hat Casts Are Back
The English dub reunites the Netflix live-action crew. Jacob Romero voices Usopp, joined by Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper.
The Japanese dub goes just as deep. Kappei Yamaguchi voices Usopp, with Mayumi Tanaka as Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji, and Ikue Ōtani as Chopper. As One Piece.com notes, this is the same lineup that has voiced the Straw Hats in both the long-running TV anime and the Japanese dub of the live-action series, so Japanese viewers get the original crew no matter which version they grew up with.
On the production side, Anime News Network reports that the special is animated by Vancouver-based studio Atomic Cartoons in collaboration with Shueisha and the LEGO Group. ANN also lists more returning live-action faces in the English cast, including Jeff Ward as Buggy, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Charithra Chandran as Nefertari Vivi, and Callum Kerr as Captain Smoker.
Looking Ahead
LEGO One Piece streams worldwide exclusively on Netflix starting Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as a two-part special. There is no regional split; the September 29 date is global, and no other platform is involved.

One Piece.com frames the special as part of Netflix's steadily expanding One Piece slate, and the site's recent coverage notes that Season 3 of the live-action series has already wrapped filming ahead of its 2027 debut.
Eiichiro Oda's original manga is published by Shueisha in Japan and by Viz Media in English, where the story Usopp is about to exaggerate spans roughly the first 100 chapters.
