Two Veterans Step Into the Academy City
Shinichirō Miki (Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) plays Theodosiel (テオドシール), the dean of the academy that Allen and his friends attend in Season 2. A high elf royal with no claim to the throne, Theodosiel is described as a fair-minded leader who treats people equally regardless of social standing.
Taketora (武虎) voices Doberg (ドベルグ), a serf-born warrior who clawed his way to legendary hero status in Latache Kingdom through swordsmanship alone. Doberg holds the Sword Saint talent and has devoted most of his life to the battlefield, driven by a fierce determination to wipe out the Demon Lord's army.
Both actors shared comments through Japanese entertainment news site Comic Natalie's report. Miki summed up the show as a "pastoral growth action drama" and said being entrusted with a character of Theodosiel's stature left him feeling restless. Taketora praised the level-cap system as a refreshing narrative device and described building Doberg from the inside out, reaching for the reasons behind the character's relentless pursuit of strength.
What the Main PV Reveals
The newly released main PV follows Allen, Kurena, Dogora, and Cecil as they arrive at Latache Kingdom's academy city. New characters show up throughout, and scenes of dungeon exploration and fresh alliances fill out the back half of the trailer.
The PV also marks the first listen of the Season 2 opening theme, "○✕△□," performed by three-piece rock band Romanha Mashumaro (浪漫派マシュマロ). The band's Mayu (万結) described the song as a reflection of Allen's resolve: "You can't choose how you're born, but you can choose how you live."

Hell Mode follows a 35-year-old office worker reincarnated as Allen, a serf boy in a fantasy world. Searching for a game he can grind for over a decade, Allen chooses life on the highest difficulty, "Hell Mode," and wields his rare Summoner talent to carve a path toward becoming the strongest.
Looking Ahead
Hell Mode Season 2 premieres July 3, 2026 on TOKYO MX at 25:00 (1:00 AM), with MBS, BS NTV, and AT-X following over the next few days. HIDIVE streamed Season 1 internationally earlier this year, making it the most likely destination for the new season as well, though no official Season 2 streaming announcement has been made.
The anime adapts the light novel by Hamuo, published by Earth Star Entertainment. A manga adaptation illustrated by Saruji Tetsuda is also available in Japan.
