Two Vanguard Regulars Front the Ghost-and-Gal Duo
Karin Kagami voices Rubuna (ルブナ) and Yuka Nishio voices Santi (サンティ), the co-leads chasing idol stardom. Both actors already live in this franchise: Kagami played Urara Haneyama in Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress, and Nishio voiced Nao Inabe in Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez. For a spin-off built for existing Vanguard fans, the casting keeps things in the family.
Bushiroad announced the adaptation at its TCG Strategy Presentation 2026 on July 22, and Japanese entertainment outlet Oricon News reported the casting the following day.
An Idol Story Pulled Straight From the Card Lore
Ghost Meets Gal! (ごーすと・みーつ・ぎゃる！) is drawn by Kaeru DX and runs as a web manga on the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise's official X account. The all-hiragana title reads exactly how it sounds in English: a ghost meets a gal.
The story is set in Lyrical Monasterio, the academy city from the Vanguard card game's world, and follows Rubuna and Santi as they work toward becoming idols. That setting is the card game's idol-centric corner, so a short-form comedy about two hopefuls fits the source material's whole premise.
Ninety Seconds of Story, Thirty Seconds of Song
This is a mini-anime in the strictest sense. Each broadcast pairs 90 seconds of main footage with a 30-second theme song, and studio AtoriE handles the animation.
The theme song, "Nikoichi Mirai," comes from Mugendai Mewtype, an idol unit out of Bushiroad's own BanG Dream! project. "Nikoichi" is Japanese slang for two things that only come as a matched set, which suits a show built entirely around its two-girl pairing.
Broadcasts start September 5, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. across six TV Tokyo-network stations, including TV Aichi, with a same-day late-night airing at 11:30 p.m. on the satellite channel BS NTV.
Looking Ahead
The premiere is set for September 5, 2026 in Japan. No international streaming has been announced. The franchise's official Vanguard Channel on YouTube currently streams the Divinez TV anime, so that channel is the one to watch for any online release of the shorts.
The source manga is posted publicly on the official Vanguard X account in Japanese only; no English edition has been announced.
