A Password-Locked Door Into the Tent Village
Japanese anime news site Anime Anime sent two editors to stay overnight, and their report makes the collab, officially titled Omoide o Tsumugu, Hoshi to Takibi no Tabiji (roughly, "A Journey of Stars and Campfires, Weaving Memories"), sound less like a pop-up shop and more like a playable RPG town. Check-in happens at the glamping lounge, where each room key waits inside a numbered locker. From there, guests reach the Frieren zone through a locked door that only opens with a "magic password."
Past the door sits a row of glamping tents, and the tents themselves are closer to hotel rooms than campsites: air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a proper bed, a fridge and an electric kettle. The reporters, self-described indoor types who visited in July heat, were openly relieved. The Frieren dressing is in the details. Cushions carry collab designs, and the bed cover is patterned after the Era Meteors, the meteor shower at the heart of the hero party's memories. Prints of the party's travel photos sit on the table. Each tent also holds a small notebook where guests write down their own "adventure" for later visitors to read.
Hold Stark's Axe, Get Eaten by a Mimic
The lounge greets guests with the collab key visual and life-size panels of Frieren, Fern and Stark, then turns into a small museum of props from the series. Near-life-size versions of Frieren's and Fern's staves and Stark's axe sit on open display, and anyone can pick them up for photos. The builders even tuned the weight: the axe has real heft, enough that the reporters gave up on adventurer cosplay and declared themselves villagers.
Also on display are Frieren's necklace (聖杖の証, roughly "proof of the holy staff") and the Dark Dragon's horn, the trophy Himmel picked up at the Demon King's castle and kept in a dresser for 50 years. The centerpiece, though, is a Mimic disguised as a treasure chest, complete with unsettlingly realistic fangs. Guests are encouraged to stick their heads in and get "eaten," and the reporters describe a steady stream of visitors photographing each other rear-first in its jaws. Props like these usually sit behind glass at anime exhibitions; here, everything is meant to be touched.
BBQ Dinner, Frieren's Favorite Pudding and a Lot of Katori Produce
Dinner is the resort's terrace BBQ plan, with the gear and ingredients prepped in advance, vegetables harvested on the farm itself, and a staff-run grilling lesson for first-timers. Dessert is the collab's food centerpiece: a Melkuhr-style pudding (メルクーア風プリン), the lightly sweet milk pudding billed as Frieren's favorite, served with berry sauce and tiny character flags.
The rest of the menu shows off the location. THE FARM Cafe serves a pizza topped with Katori-grown mushrooms and bacon alongside a rum-scented Basque cheesecake, and the breakfast buffet gathers Chiba specialties: six-grain rice grown in Katori, soy-simmered tsukudani preserves from the Sawara district, roasted green tea from Ogawa-en (a long-running tea shop in nearby Sakura), and mountain yam from the town of Tako.
THE FARM itself is one of the largest glamping facilities in the Kanto region, a 100,000-square-meter site (more than twice the footprint of Tokyo Dome) in Katori City, about 90 minutes by highway bus from Tokyo Station, with a cafe restaurant and bathhouse on the grounds. It has won awards at the Outdoor Innovation Summit six years running, and this is its first collaboration with an anime.
Looking Ahead
The collab runs through October 16, 2026, and the themed zone is open to overnight guests only. Reservations opened March 30 through THE FARM's official site as a one-night, two-meal BBQ stay package, with the official announcement capping collab rooms at 32 per day.
As for the anime, Season 2 premiered January 16, 2026 on Nippon TV and streams internationally on Crunchyroll in most regions outside Asia. Season 3, adapting the Golden Land arc, is already set for October 2027, so the franchise will still be mid-journey long after the campfires in Chiba go out.
