Haikyu!! Turns Volleyball Into a Full-Body Exhibit
For sports-anime fans, the lead entry in Anime Anime's summer event roundup is Volleyball Super Experience Space: Haikyu!! On the Court, running now at the Dojima River Forum in Osaka through August 2, 2026. Built around the series' three signature actions of flying, hitting, and connecting, the event pairs hands-on volleyball installations with video content and newly recorded cast audio, so visitors move through the story instead of just looking at it.
Ayumu Murase (村瀬歩), who voices protagonist Shoyo Hinata, has already given the event his stamp of approval, saying he could experience the world of the series with his own body. Once the Osaka run wraps, the whole exhibit relocates to Bellesalle Roppongi in Tokyo, where it runs from August 7 to September 13, 2026.
Detective Conan's Escape Game Is Playable Outside Japan
Fresh off this spring's Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway, the franchise's 29th film, a Real Escape Game collaboration picks up where the movie leaves off. The game, titled Shippū no Highway kara no Dasshutsu (roughly, "Escape from the Gale-Speed Chase") in Japanese, casts players as members of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police traffic control command center, working alongside Conan to rescue Ran from a runaway self-driving bus. Sessions run about 120 minutes with a 60-minute game clock, and teams max out at six players.
It is also the rare entry on this list with confirmed venues outside Japan. The game is being staged at more than 40 locations worldwide, including Taiwan, on top of Japanese stops in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. The story is built to work whether or not players have seen the film.
Ai Yazawa Hosts a Grown-Up Summer Festival at Yebisu Brewery
Ai Yazawa (矢沢あい), the creator of Nana and Paradise Kiss, has reunited with Yebisu Beer for a second collaboration. The exhibition, Yebisu no Bijinga to Yoimatsuri (roughly, "Yebisu Beauty Portraits and the Evening Festival"), runs at YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO through August 31, 2026 and is themed as a "grown-up summer festival" centered on her newly drawn beauty-portrait artwork. On display are the illustrations from the collaboration beer cans, reproduction art prints, and pieces exclusive to the event, alongside photo spots, limited-edition goods, an original beer, and limited-time food.
A short-run Nagoya edition at the JR Gate Tower event space closes on July 20, 2026, so fans there have only a day or two left. Buying goods at the Nagoya venue requires a numbered ticket, reserved online starting at 2:00 p.m. the day before.
Chiikawa, Ultraman, and Pingu Fill Out the Season
Creator Nagano's Chiikawa has taken over Tokyo Skytree for Chiikawa: Hoshi Furu Skytree to Himitsu no Shima (roughly, "A Star-Filled Skytree and the Secret Island"), running through October 31, 2026 to mark the release of the film Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu (roughly, "The Secret of Mermaid Island"). The observation decks host exhibits retracing the movie's story, photo spots designed for plushie photography, a limited-time café menu, exclusive goods, and night-only special footage and lighting. Standard observation tickets are required for the deck areas.
In Harajuku, ULTRA MART TOKYO opened on July 10, 2026 and is selling Ultraman x mofusand crossover goods, headlined by a plush of the shark-cat character Same-nyan dressed as Ultraman Tiga, plus mascot keychains and pins. The shop also houses a roughly three-meter Ultraman Tiga statue, photo spots, limited-edition drinks, capsule toys, and meet-and-greet appearances by Ultra Heroes.
Finally, Pingu marks his 45th anniversary with Kawaii Dake ja Nai!? Pingu-ten (roughly, "More Than Just Cute: The Pingu Exhibition") at YURAKUCHO MUSEUM, inside the Tokyo International Forum, through September 6, 2026. The amusement-park-themed show displays clay models actually used in production along with other production materials, a corner for trying out "Pingu language," game-style interactive exhibits, and exhibition-exclusive merchandise. Sony Creative Products is organizing the exhibition.
Looking Ahead
The closing dates are staggered across the next three months. The Nagoya leg of the Ai Yazawa exhibition ends July 20; the Osaka Haikyu!! run closes August 2, with Tokyo following from August 7; the YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO show runs through August 31; the Pingu exhibition through September 6; and the Chiikawa Skytree event through October 31.
For fans outside Japan, the Detective Conan escape game is the one confirmed option, with its 40-plus worldwide venues including Taiwan detailed on the event's official site. Anime Anime's roundup doesn't mention overseas dates for any of the other five events, so for now the rest are Japan-only trips.
