The World's First Double-Sided Coin Hobby, Explained
Gyakuten Bariba Reverse (逆転バリバリバース) hit Japanese toy shelves on March 21, 2026, and Bandai's English product pages bill it as "the world's first double-sided coin hobby." Each Bariba Coin houses a creature called a Baribii with two competing natures: an Order Side that stands for keeping the world in line, and an Extreme Side that stands for freedom. Players flick their coins into each other, and flipping the opponent's coin over decides the match.
The franchise also runs as a manga by Kakeru Kakemaru (掛丸翔) in Shogakukan's kids' manga magazine Monthly CoroCoro Comic. It follows Manato Urakaze, a boy who picks up a mysterious coin, and Ratty, the odd little creature that pops out of it. The first collected volume went on sale in July 2026, and its special edition shipped with two gold Bariba Coins.
The Anime Lives on YouTube, Not TV
According to a report from Japanese entertainment news site Comic Natalie, the anime streams on the franchise's official channel, BariBari Tube, which opened on August 29, 2026. The plan calls for two vertical anime shorts every week and two full-length horizontal videos every month, alongside hobby videos covering the products and how to play. Comic Natalie notes the opening lineup features the Extreme Side characters.
Production comes from BitStar Anime, the YouTube animation brand of Japanese creator company BitStar, which detailed its role in a PR TIMES release. The brand already operates several YouTube anime channels, including Pekepeke! Pekettsu-kun, which has around 580,000 subscribers. BariBari Tube's early uploads set the tone: short gag skits starring Ratty, plus a full music video titled "Bari Be Together."

There is no broadcast date or paywall to wait for. The shorts and videos post directly to BariBari Tube, so anyone with a YouTube account can watch right now. The content is currently Japanese-language only, and no English subtitles have been announced.
There is also no word on an English edition of the manga, which stays exclusive to Monthly CoroCoro Comic in Japan for now. On the toy side, Bandai has kept a steady pace since launch, with Bariba Coin waves arriving on March 21, April 25, and July 18, 2026. For now, BariBari Tube is the place to watch for whatever the franchise does next.
