Five Voice Actors Round Out the Cast
The second full trailer for Dara-san of Reiwa unveiled five new voice cast members, expanding the show's ensemble well beyond the Misogiya household.
Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki Sakata in Gintama) plays Fudeki Naomichi (筆木直道), Kaoru's homeroom teacher, a bachelor who lives with one cat. Saori Hayami (Yor Forger in Spy x Family) voices the Elder Shrine Maiden (姉巫女), the elder of twin sisters in an exorcist family who beheaded Yamatagimadara, the serpent creature central to the story. Hōchū Ōtsuka (Jiraiya in Naruto) takes on Orochi (おろち), the severed spirit of that same beast, whose head and body were sealed in separate mountains after its defeat.
Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) voices Hasegawa Amane (初瀬川周), a transfer student entering Hinata's second-year middle school class. Japanese anime and gaming news site Dengeki Online reports that Amane collapsed at age 12, grew rapidly, and only recently regained consciousness. She carries a mature presence and has taken a mysterious interest in Hinata. Mai Aizawa rounds out the new cast as Ikago Miwa (五十子美和), the Misogiya family's neighbor, a freelance designer who also creates doujinshi (self-published works).
In their cast comments, Sugita described scrolling social media when Dara-san's face caught his eye, trapping him in a stare that slowly turned into a grin. Ōtsuka recalled growing up hearing yokai legends from his grandmother in rural Okayama and said voicing a serpent spirit felt personal. Koga highlighted the manga's alternating past-and-present structure, saying she was drawn in by the gradually revealed connections between characters.
About Dara-san of Reiwa
Based on the manga by ともつか治臣 (likely Haruomi Tomotsuka) published by Kadokawa, the series follows siblings Hinata and Kaoru Misogiya. Their family manages a remote mountain with a forbidden sacred site. One stormy night the two wander into the restricted zone and encounter Yamatagimadara, a massive serpent curse god. Instead of running, they befriend the creature and start calling it "Dara-san."
The official synopsis bills the show as a "new-sensation occult comedy" where the fearless siblings flip the horror premise and the curse god ends up playing the straight man. Asahi Production handles animation, with Tadato Suzuki (鈴木理人) directing. Mutsumi Tamura leads the existing cast as Dara-san, joined by Minami Tsuda as Hinata, Momoka Terasawa as Kaoru, and Masaki Terasoma as narrator.
REIRIE Performs the Ending Theme
The trailer confirmed duo REIRIE as the ending theme artist. Their track "Hinatabokko" (ひなたぼっこ, roughly "Basking in the Sun") plays over the trailer's closing stretch. Member REI said she hopes the song "colors the afterglow of each episode," while RIE added that she wants viewers to enjoy the music alongside Dara-san's story. The opening theme is titled "Daradara Dancing" (ダラダラ♡ダンシング), though no performing artist has been announced.
