Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu (rendered by Anime News Network as Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island) has passed ¥18.66 billion at the box office and 12.77 million admissions in its first 101 days, according to a report on Yahoo! Japan News. The film opened on July 24, and Oricon News reported the 101-day milestone on November 2, 2026.
The Yahoo! Japan News report places the film 12th on the all-time box office ranking. It also says the film is keeping a pace above ONE PIECE FILM RED (2022), which had earned about ¥18.04 billion after 93 days and finished with ¥20.34 billion.
A milestone list carried by AGARA has the Chiikawa film at ¥18.15 billion and 12.42 million admissions after 87 days, then ¥18.49 billion and 12.65 million after 94 days.
The film's seventh admission bonus is a clear card with new art by Nagano, Oricon News lists, with four designs distributed at random.
