Bocchi the Rock! is getting a theatrical anime film, Eiga Bocchi the Rock! Hoshi no Ashiato, due in 2027, according to a Comic Natalie report published November 1, 2026. A teaser visual, a teaser video and an introduction for the film were released with the announcement.
The film adapts "Hoshi ni Tamukeru Ai no Hana," a special story included at the end of the fifth manga volume. Its protagonist is Seika Ijichi, Nijika's older sister. According to the report, it tells a story about a "dream" that begins with the sisters' separation 10 years earlier. Maaya Uchida voices Seika, and Sayumi Suzushiro voices Nijika.
Shin Wakabayashi directs the film, with a screenplay by Erika Yoshida and character designs by Yukiko Horiguchi. CloverWorks is handling the animation, and ANIMEC is the distributor.
In a comment, original creator Aki Hamaji said the story came to mind on the way home from a recording session for the first TV season. Hamaji wanted to fill in the sisters' past shown at the end of the anime's episode 8, and drew the path that led to STARRY, which Seika manages. Yoshida's comment also says the second TV season should arrive "in the not-too-distant future" (translated). Season 2 director Yusuke Yamamoto also contributed a comment board (shikishi).
The first wave of Mubichike advance tickets goes on sale November 6. They feature a new illustration of Seika and Nijika, and early buyers receive an illustrated sticker while supplies last.
Kessoku Band, the band at the center of the series, will also go on tour with "Kessoku Band ASIA TOUR 2027 'To Asia.'" It opens with two days in Osaka on March 13 and 14, 2027, followed by Seoul on May 8 and Hong Kong on May 22. The official pre-sale lottery for the Osaka shows is open through November 15 on Lawson Ticket.
