New information on the Netflix anime Fool Night will be released at 8 p.m. JST on November 5, 2026, according to an Anime Hack report. The anime's official X account, @foolnight_anime, has begun posting countdown videos ahead of the reveal.
The countdown runs for three days. Anime Hack says the first day's video pairs a bright but somewhat ominous melody with the question: "For ¥10 million in support money, why not offer your body to the flowers for the sake of the global environment and everyone?" (translated). The report calls the video cryptic and raises the question of who the message is meant for. It does not say what the new information will be.
Fool Night is based on Kasumi Yasuda's sci-fi suspense manga, which is serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior. The story takes place on a far-future Earth dominated by winter and night, where most plants have died. Oxygen-starved humanity relies on the small amount of oxygen obtained through a technology that plants seeds in the bodies of people near death and turns them into plants. Toshiro Kamiya (voiced by Koki Uchiyama) is an impoverished young man working to pay his taxes, living costs and his mentally ill mother's medicine. After losing hope, he chooses to become one of those plants.
The series is the first collaboration between Sunrise and Shaft. It will stream exclusively on Netflix worldwide from November 26, 2026, with all episodes released at once, according to the anime's official website.
