A Who's Who of Manga Talent Pays Tribute

The Parasyte Exhibition (寄生獣展) just dropped its third teaser visual alongside a stacked lineup of tribute contributors. Twenty-one manga artists and four additional celebrities will display original shikishi — hand-drawn colored paper artwork — at the exhibition running June 6–21 at YOKOHAMA COAST in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The roster reads like a manga hall of fame. Hajime Isayama (Attack on Titan) leads the list, joined by heavyweights Makoto Yukimura (Vinland Saga), Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail), Hiroya Oku (Gantz), Hiroaki Samura (Blade of the Immortal), Kosuke Fujishima (Oh My Goddess!), Masakazu Ishiguro (Heavenly Delusion), Tsubasa Yamaguchi (Blue Period), Misaki Takamatsu (Skip and Loafer), Tsurumaikada (Medalist), and Gamon Sakurai (Ajin), among others. That these creators — spanning decades of Afternoon, Jump, and Magazine serializations — came together for Hitoshi Iwaaki's work says something about how deeply Parasyte influenced the industry.

Rounding out the 25 are contributors from beyond the manga page. Nobunaga Shimazaki (Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuno in Black Clover), who voiced protagonist Shinichi Izumi in the Parasyte -the maxim- anime, contributed a piece, as did Aya Hirano (Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucy Heartfilia in Fairy Tail), who voiced the parasitic partner Migi. Live-action Shinichi actor Shōta Sometani also participated, along with comedian Yuki Iwai of the duo Haraichi, who is well-known in Japan as a devoted manga reader.

Migi Merch and That Election Towel

The second merch wave leans into Parasyte's darkly comic side. The standout item is an election towel modeled after Hirokawa Takeshi's mayoral campaign — a deep cut for fans who remember the parasite politician's chilling run for office. For something less politically sinister, there's a collection of acrylic keychains featuring Migi in various morphed shapes, plus a Migi badge collection.

More traditional collectibles round out the lineup: framed reproduction original art, envelope-packaged reproduction manuscripts, T-shirts, and tote bags. The exhibition previously announced Migi rings, plushies, and a lucky-draw eco bag in its first merch wave.

Looking Ahead

The Parasyte Exhibition runs June 6 through June 21, 2026 at YOKOHAMA COAST (Asobuild 2F ROOM1), near Yokohama Station. Weekend and holiday hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; weekday hours start later at 2:00 p.m. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing, and the final day wraps at 5:00 p.m. Advance tickets are ¥2,000 (approximately $13), with door tickets at ¥2,200.

The exhibition showcases over 400 original manuscript pages from Hitoshi Iwaaki's 10-volume sci-fi classic, published by Kodansha. For international fans who can't make the trip, the source manga is available in English from Kodansha USA (published as Parasyte), and both the 2014–2015 anime adaptation Parasyte -the maxim- and Netflix's 2024 Korean live-action series Parasyte: The Grey are streaming internationally. No word yet on whether the exhibition will travel beyond Yokohama.
