Ten Fan-Favorite Designs Get the Chibi Treatment
According to a report from Japanese anime news site Anime Anime, the fair covers ten designs from the original Mobile Suit Gundam: the Gundam, Char's Zaku II, the standard Zaku II, the Dom, the Guncannon, the Guntank, the Ball, Char's Z'Gok, the Acguy, and the round robot mascot Haro. All of them appear as deformed, chibi-style illustrations rather than the usual mechanical lineart.
Wave one hits stores September 5 with the MS Deformed T-shirt (¥4,730), a black, 100% cotton tee in sizes M through XXL with either the Gundam or Char's Zaku II printed large across the front.
Wave two follows September 12 with rubber keychains (¥1,210) of the Z'Gok, Acguy, Ball, and Haro, sized at roughly 45 × 40 mm so they can hang off a bag.
Wave three lands September 19 with two items. The MS Deformed One-Point T-shirt (¥4,730) swaps the big front print for a small embroidered chest design, available with all ten characters. Alongside it comes the MS Deformed ATTACHKIT (¥1,320), a new two-way series that works as both a patch and a sticker, again in the full ten-design lineup.
It's a playful direction for a franchise that, since 1979's Mobile Suit Gundam, has spent more than 45 years depicting war, politics, and human drama through mobile suit combat across TV series, films, OVAs, manga, novels, games, and plastic models.
Spend ¥12,000, Take Home the Zeon Tote
The fair's freebie is store-only. Spend ¥12,000 or more (tax included) at a participating shop, with at least one deformed item in the purchase, and you receive an original Mobile Suit Gundam tote bag decorated with chibi-style Principality of Zeon artwork. It's first come, first served, and the bags are limited in number.
One catch for online shoppers: Premium Bandai orders don't count toward the tote. The participating shops are four STRICT-G stores: Tokyo Odaiba, Tokyo Solamachi, and the highway service-area locations at NEOPASA Shizuoka and Taga SA.
Looking Ahead
Preorders run from 1:00 p.m. JST on September 4 through 11:00 p.m. JST on September 13, 2026, at the STRICT-G Online Store inside Premium Bandai, Bandai's official web shop. Online orders are slated to ship in September 2026, and Bandai cautions that preorders may close early if stock runs out. In-store sales follow the three-wave schedule of September 5, 12, and 19.
One note for overseas fans, buried in the fine print: Bandai says the items may also be sold outside Japan. No international retailers, dates, or regions are confirmed yet, so for now the Premium Bandai preorder window and the four Japanese stores are the only confirmed ways to buy in.
