Day 2 Swapped In a Nearly All-New Lineup
Jujutsu Kaisen, MAPPA's adaptation of Gege Akutami's manga about a high schooler who swallows a cursed finger and becomes the vessel of the King of Curses, premiered in October 2020. The five-year mark got a two-day sendoff on August 29 and 30 at the K-Arena Yokohama concert venue, and Day 2 fielded an almost entirely different cast from Day 1, according to the Day 2 report from Japanese anime news site Anime Anime.
The roster: Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori), Megumi Ogata (Yuta Okkotsu), Yūma Uchida (Megumi Fushiguro), Asami Seto (Nobara Kugisaki), Mikako Komatsu (Maki Zen'in), Kenjirō Tsuda (Kento Nanami), Takahiro Sakurai (Suguru Geto and Kenjaku), Kōji Yusa (Naoya Zen'in), Tomokazu Sugita (Hiromi Higuruma), and Tomoyo Kurosawa as Takada-chan, the tall idol Aoi Todo adores.
Two of them were Juju Fes first-timers. Sugita joked that he would do his best “so nobody can sue me for being boring,” while Yusa said he felt almost sheepish being invited to such a glamorous stage, since Naoya only ever shows up for the Zen'in family's infighting.
The band ALI opened the show with “LOST IN PARADISE,” the anime's first ending theme. Vocalist LEO, a longtime Shonen Jump reader, recalled being caught between the manga's grim turns and the sight of the cast dancing in that ending animation, and thanked fans for turning those dancing characters into a shared “paradise.” The first half of the music relay followed, stacked with lines fans came to hear, like Maki's “Call me big sister, little sister” and Yuta's “That's rude. It's pure love.”
The Jujudemy Awards Dug Into Five Years of Defining Lines
The event's centerpiece was the Jujudemy Awards, an Academy Awards-style fan rundown of the anime's best lines and scenes. Uchida took the “line only you could say” award for Fushiguro's push that gets Yuji moving again after the Shibuya Incident, explaining that after everything that happened there, Fushiguro couldn't let Yuji stand still.
Sugita (Gintoki in Gintama, Joseph Joestar in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) won the “good adult” award for Higuruma, and shared a booth story: after his very first Higuruma session, Sakurai, already finished for the day, stayed behind in the studio and murmured that this was how Sugita would play him. Komatsu said Maki's award-winning scene was one she had been bracing for, and that the nomination made her feel the recording had genuinely reached fans. Yusa joked that Naoya's winning moment was “a moving scene where his very honest feelings come through.”
The audience-judged block debated which character would make the best pet: Panda; Fushiguro's rabbit shikigami; the grasshopper curse; or Mechamaru. Seto stumped for the rabbits, citing the gap between the joy of having so many of them and their surprisingly sharp little faces. Ultimate Mechamaru won, and Sugita, who picked it, drew laughs with “Everyone go back. We're redoing this.”
Tsuda's award went to Nanami's “Itadori-kun, you're already a jujutsu sorcerer,” which he called the point where the pair's real relationship begins. Seto won a second prize for Nobara's “accomplices” line, saying that reaching for that word in that moment was pure Nobara, and Uchida collected the “line of resolve” award for the scene where Fushiguro stops thinking everything ends with his death and starts acting on a will that would outlive him. The special staging award then replayed Yuji's post-Shibuya turmoil against King Gnu's season 2 opening theme “SPECIALZ,” and the arena audibly held its breath.
Takada-chan's Concert and a Music Relay to the Culling Game
Day 2 got an exclusive: a live Takada-chan set, with Kurosawa performing “Saikōchō☆JUMPING!” in person. She said it was a blast, and joked that watching the heavier scenes from backstage nearly brought her to tears before her heart “bulked up” and she felt ready to sing. A storybook segment called Juju Dowa followed, with the cast reading The Giant Turnip seasoned with Naoya's and Nanami's signature lines, and a surprise video from Subaru Kimura, Todo's voice actor, presenting his “My Best Todo” picks kept the room loud.
The music relay's second half ran from the Shibuya Incident into the Culling Game, including the scenes where Nanami and Nobara each leave Yuji with their words. Hitsujibungaku, the band behind season 2 ending theme “more than words,” performed the song live. Vocalist Moeka Shiotsuka said she wrote the song identifying with the strength of having companions, then confessed she had switched from a Mechamaru fan to a Todo fan after seeing the theatrical release, which made Takada-chan's live set a personal highlight.
jo0ji closed both nights with “Yoake no Uta.” The finale packed in fresh details on the Gege Akutami Jujutsu Kaisen Completion Exhibition, game updates, and new art before a last live dubbing performance set to “Kaikai Kitan,” the anime's first opening theme. In the farewells, Enoki said seeing that many people made him want to deliver the next stretch of animation as soon as possible, and Kurosawa signed off with “only love is special grade.”
Looking Ahead
The continuation Enoki mentioned already has a shape. Culling Game Part 1, billed as season 3, ran from January 8 to March 26, 2026, and Part 2 is billed as season 4 and currently in production. A teaser trailer landed on TOHO animation's official YouTube channel on June 19, 2026, though no broadcast date has been announced yet.
Internationally, Jujutsu Kaisen streams on Crunchyroll, with Netflix also carrying the series in many regions. The manga is complete, and Viz Media publishes it in English, with chapters also available on Shueisha's Manga Plus app.
