The God's Knights Step Into the Spotlight
One Piece's Elbaf arc has been building toward this moment. The God's Knights, the shadowy enforcers who answer directly to the World Government's highest authority, finally got real screen time in the episode that aired June 14 on Fuji TV. Two members in particular stole the show: Saint Shamrock (シャムロック聖), voiced by Kenjirō Tsuda (Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen, Overhaul in My Hero Academia), and Gunko (軍子宮), voiced by Sumire Uesaka (Lum in the 2022 Urusei Yatsura, Nagatoro in Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro).
Both characters had been announced earlier, but this episode marked their first extended appearance with full voice work.
Fan Reactions Hit Hard
Japanese fans flooded social media with reactions after the broadcast. The standout topic was Gunko. She looks adorable. She is not adorable. Fans immediately latched onto the gap between her cute design and her overwhelming strength, with comments like "Gunko looks so pretty and elegant, then she's way too strong and way too scary" making the rounds.
Her voice performance drew particular praise, with viewers noting they liked her distinctive speech pattern. Shamrock's cool, grizzled presence landed just as well. Fans called out the thick tension in the scene where Loki, Gunko, and Shamrock face off, describing Shamrock as "so cool" and the atmosphere as suffocating.
The episode also teased forward momentum, with fans noting that the God's Knights' leader appears ready to make a move.
The Full God's Knights Lineup
The group's anime roster has been filling out quickly. Alongside Shamrock and Gunko, Japanese entertainment news site Oricon News reports that Saint Sommers (ソマーズ聖) is voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto (Chad in Bleach) and Saint Killingham (キリンガム聖) by Shinnosuke Tachibana (Yaku in Haikyu!!). Those two castings were announced shortly before the latest episode.
For context, the God's Knights are a major force in the Elbaf arc. Their role in the story's endgame has been one of the most-discussed threads in the manga community, and a heavyweight voice cast gives them real presence on screen.
Looking Ahead
One Piece's Elbaf arc continues weekly on Fuji TV, produced by Toei Animation (One Piece, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon). Crunchyroll streams the series internationally with simulcast episodes. The source manga by Eiichiro Oda has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997 and has surpassed 600 million copies in worldwide circulation. Viz Media publishes the English edition, and chapters are available on the Manga Plus app.
With the God's Knights now fully in play and their leader on the verge of action, the Elbaf arc looks ready to accelerate.
