New Art Sends the Heroes on Vacation
Animate, Japan's largest anime specialty retailer, announced a new wave of My Hero Academia merchandise built around a fresh set of original illustrations. The art depicts six fan-favorite characters enjoying a travel theme: Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, Ochaco Uraraka, Shoto Todoroki, All Might, and Shota Aizawa.
The merch drop arrives on August 8, 2026, and ties into the broader "My Hero Academia: The Animation 10th Anniversary" campaign that kicked off in April 2026, four months after the TV anime wrapped its run in December 2025.
What's in the Lineup
The collection spans several product categories, all using the new travel illustrations:
- Acrylic Stands (6 types) at ¥1,980 each (approx. $13)
- Character Badge Collection (6 types) at ¥440 per blind pack (approx. $3), or ¥2,640 for a full box of six
- Japan Map Clear Files (2 designs, A and B) at ¥440 each
- "Tour Japan" Big Towels (2 designs, A and B) at ¥4,950 each (approx. $33)
The Japan-map motif across the clear files and towels fits the regional travel theme. Additional products beyond these four categories are also planned, per the press release.
Nationwide Fair and Themed Drinks
Alongside the merch launch, Animate is running a "Nationwide Gotouchi Support Fair" from August 8 through August 30 at all Animate stores and through its online shop. For every ¥1,100 (approx. $7) spent on My Hero Academia goods, including merchandise from the spinoff Vigilantes: My Hero Academia Illegals, shoppers receive one pennant-style sticker from a set of six random designs. Audio and video products (Blu-rays, CDs) also qualify.
Animate's in-house Gratte drink collaboration is also part of the campaign. Select stores across Japan will serve themed latte art (¥660), icing cookies (¥605), and graphic ice treats (¥750) featuring the six characters. An optional trading acrylic coaster set is available for an extra ¥500 per drink order. The Gratte collab runs the same August 8 to 30 window at locations including Animate Ikebukuro, Akihabara ANNEX, Shibuya, Nagoya, Osaka Nipponbashi, and roughly a dozen other stores nationwide.
Looking Ahead
The merch line and fair mark the latest piece of My Hero Academia's 10th Anniversary push. The manga, written by Kohei Horikoshi and serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, remains one of the publisher's flagship franchises.
For international fans, the products will be available through Animate's online shop, though overseas shipping options from Animate are limited. Proxy shopping services remain the most reliable route for buyers outside Japan. No Crunchyroll or Western retail partner has announced plans to carry the travel-themed line.
