Deku Picks Up a Paint Roller
The fair, officially titled "DIY & Anime My Hero Academia 10th Anniversary Fair in Hands," puts the cast in a setting they rarely inhabit: a DIY store. New illustrations show Deku, Bakugo, and the rest wielding spray cans, paintbrushes, and power tools as they take on DIY projects. That visual hook anchors the first product line, the "DIY" series, which launches July 24 alongside the fair's opening.
Hands, the Japanese DIY and lifestyle retail chain formerly known as Tokyu Hands, has run My Hero Academia fairs since the anime's first season debuted in April 2016. This year's edition lands during a double milestone: the anime's 10th anniversary and Hands' own 50th anniversary as a company. The lineup is bigger than usual to match.
Three Product Lines on a Staggered Schedule
The fair splits its merchandise across three distinct series with two launch windows.
July 24 releases:
- DIY series features the new DIY-themed illustrations. Expect the usual lineup of acrylic stands, clear files, and similar character goods built around the fresh key art.
- Anime 10th Anniversary Revival series collects past Hands-exclusive illustrations into a single commemorative product line. For longtime fans who missed earlier fair runs, this is a second chance at older designs.
August 7 release:
- Sukajan Deformed series takes the "Dress Up! Sukajan" illustrations from November 2025, which depicted the cast wearing souvenir jackets, and redraws them in chibi/deformed style. Four product types are confirmed.
Additional goods beyond these three lines are planned but haven't been detailed yet.
Purchase Bonus and Store List
Spend 2,000 yen (tax included) on any My Hero Academia merchandise at participating stores and receive one random exclusive postcard. Eight designs are available. The postcards use the new illustrations and are distributed one per qualifying purchase, no receipt stacking allowed.
The 21 participating locations span the country, from Sapporo in Hokkaido to Naha Main Place in Okinawa. Major city flagships include Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Yokohama, Nagoya, and the Shinsaibashi and Abeno Q's Mall locations in Osaka. A dedicated event page on the Hands website has the full store-by-store breakdown.
A Busy Summer for MHA's 10th
The Hands fair is one piece of a broader 10th anniversary push that kicked off in April 2026 under the banner "My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary." In May, the special episode No.170+1 "More," adapted from an original chapter included in the manga's final volume, aired on television. A new short anime titled "I am a hero too," based on a special one-shot from a fan book, has been announced for this summer, with screenings planned during the second and third waves of the Character Match-Up theatrical events.
The anime ran for eight seasons and 170 episodes between April 2016 and its Final Season in 2025, with four theatrical films along the way. Kohei Horikoshi's original manga, serialized for a decade in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, has surpassed 100 million copies in circulation worldwide.
Looking Ahead
The fair runs from July 24 through August 23 at all 21 locations. No online sales option has been mentioned, so international fans will need to plan around a Japan trip or a proxy shopping service to pick up the exclusives. The "I am a hero too" short anime and continued Character Match-Up screenings give Japanese fans more to look forward to this summer, though no international streaming details have been confirmed for either.
