Junya Enoki Counts Down the First Lighting

The August 16 ceremony took place at Yokohama Cosmoworld, the amusement park in the city's Minato Mirai waterfront district, with the harbor skyline, officially selected as one of Japan's “New Three Major Night Views,” spread out behind the stage. Enoki, who has voiced Yuji Itadori since the anime debuted in October 2020 (and who also voices Nasa Yuzaki in TONIKAWA: Over the Moon for You), joined MC Neki Matsuzawa (松澤ネキ) to walk through the collab lineup before leading the crowd in a “3, 2, 1” countdown. On cue, the park's Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris wheel kicked off the roughly two-minute debut performance.

Costumed mascot versions of the show's first-year trio, Yuji-kun, Megumi-kun, and Nobara-chan, also took the stage and greeted the crowd with suitably adorable reactions. Enoki pointed out that the illumination outlasts the franchise's big anniversary event at the end of the month: “You can still see it after Jujufes, so I hope you'll make it a full Jujutsu Kaisen day.”

A “Curtain” Falls Over Minato Mirai

In Gege Akutami's series, sorcerers drop a jet-black veil called a tobari (帳) to seal off an area before a fight, and the illumination is built around that image. According to Anime Anime's event report, the show opens with a “curtain” descending over the Yokohama night, then sends characters, Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro among them, surfacing one after another across the 100-meter wheel while cursed techniques bloom as gradients of colored light.

The public run goes from August 21 to August 31, 2026. The wheel lights up nightly between 7:30 p.m. and 9:32 p.m., with a two-minute performance at the top and bottom of every hour.

The Collab Stretches Across the Whole City

The Ferris wheel show is the centerpiece of a partnership between the anime and the city of Yokohama that has been running since August 1, centered on Yokohama Cosmoworld, the YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN cable car, and Yokohama Marine Tower. Ordering limited-edition menu items or using select services at participating shops earns visitors exclusive stickers featuring newly drawn mini-character art, and the Mirai Tube concourse at Minatomirai Station hosts a large-scale photo spot built around the 5th-anniversary visual. Character photo spots are scattered across the city's sightseeing landmarks, so the whole campaign is designed to be walked, not just visited once.

The MAPPA-produced anime has been running its 5th-anniversary program since 2025, and this summer marks the finale.

Jujufes 2026 Closes Out the Anniversary

That finale peaks with Jujufes 2026 -5th anniversary-, set for August 29 and 30 at the K-Arena Yokohama concert venue. Organizers are billing it as the biggest Jujufes yet, with two days of live dubbing performances from the cast, a special band playing the series' music live, and sets from the anime's opening and ending theme artists.

The lighting ceremony doubled as a news drop for the festival. The first-ever “Jujudemy Awards” will pick each character's most memorable line by fan vote, pair it with a fan-submitted award-category name, and have the cast perform the winners through live dubbing. A “Jujutsu Kaisen Music Relay” segment will revisit music from across the anime's run, performed live by the festival's special band alongside series composer Yoshimasa Terui (照井順政). Enoki said the soundtrack spans a wide range of genres and that he is curious how the songs will land when played live against the anime's visuals.

The mascot lineup also grows for the festival, with Yuta-kun and Satoru-kun joining the first-year trio for a five-character mini performance. In his closing comments, Enoki thanked fans for making the collab and another Jujufes possible, and said he expects the festival's reading-drama segment to be a highlight.

Looking Ahead

The Cosmo Clock 21 illumination runs August 21 to 31, and Jujufes 2026 takes over K-Arena Yokohama on August 29 and 30. Both are in-person Yokohama events, and the report doesn't mention a stream for either.

For fans outside Japan, the anime itself is the easiest way in. Season 3, covering the first half of the Culling Game arc, premiered on January 8, 2026, and a teaser for the arc's concluding half hit the official TOHO animation YouTube channel in June, with the fourth season now in production. Jujutsu Kaisen streams on Crunchyroll and Netflix, and Viz Media publishes Gege Akutami's manga in English, with chapters also available on Manga Plus.
