Daoko and TeddyLoid Reunite for "TACTIC"
Daoko, best known internationally for "Uchiage Hanabi" with Kenshi Yonezu (the theme for the 2017 anime film Fireworks), performs the second-cour opening for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4. The track, titled "TACTIC," is composed by Giga and TeddyLoid. TeddyLoid is a longtime Daoko collaborator whose joint 2014 track "ME!ME!ME!" went viral through its Japan Animator Expo short film.
Oricon News reported that "TACTIC" pairs a dark, tense atmosphere with high-energy drive matching the series' escalating stakes.
On the ending side, Azusa Tadokoro performs "Hymnal" (ヒムナル), releasing July 4. Tadokoro voices Chloe Aubert in the series and sings the ending from the character's perspective. She described the song as capturing Chloe's resolve, enduring days of longing for reunion without losing hope.
Primordial Demons Take the Stage
The newly revealed second key visual puts the Primordial Demons front and center alongside Rimuru. Testarossa, Ultima, and Carrera, three major demons from Fuse's light novel, finally appear in animated form.
Yūmi Uchiyama voices Testarossa, Miyu Tomita voices Ultima, and Ikumi Hasegawa (Übel in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Ikuyo Kita in Bocchi the Rock!) takes on Carrera. The key visual also features Granbell Rozzo, voiced by Daisuke Ono, alongside Mariabell (Inori Minase) and the enigmatic Chloe. Natsuki Hanae rounds out the new cast as Yuuki.
The second PV showcases the trio in action as the series moves deeper into the story's political and military conflicts.
Season 4 is produced at Eight Bit, directed by Naokatsu Tsuda with Hitomi Ogawa on series composition. Ryōma Ebata handles character design and R·O·N composes the score. The anime adapts Fuse's light novel, published by Kodansha, which follows office worker Satoru Mikami after his reincarnation as a slime named Rimuru Tempest in a fantasy world where he builds a nation of monsters.
Looking Ahead
The second cour premieres July 3, 2026, airing Fridays at 23:00 on Nippon TV's "Friday Anime Night" block across 30 stations. BS11 follows on Saturdays at 22:00.
Crunchyroll streams the series for international audiences. Season 4 is planned as a five-cour run, with the first two cours airing consecutively through summer 2026 and the remaining three to follow. Both the light novel and Taiki Kawakami's manga adaptation are published in English by Yen Press.
In related news, the theatrical film That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Blue Sea begins streaming on Japan's U-NEXT service June 26, with a Blu-ray release on September 25.
