A new Dr.STONE anime titled Dr.STONE TERRAFORMING is in production, adapting the sequel episode collected in volume 27 of the original manga. The project was announced at the series event STONE FES.2026 together with an announcement PV, according to an anime.eiga.com report published October 18, 2026.
The PV, posted to the TOHO animation YouTube channel, shows the word TERRAFORMING appearing alongside a newly recorded Senku line, 「唆るぜ、これは」 (roughly, "This is exciting"). TERRAFORMING is a sequel episode set after the end of the main story.
Toho's announcement page says STONE FES.2026 was held on the largest scale in the work's history to mark the conclusion of the Dr.STONE TV anime series. According to the same page, the fourth and final season, Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, began broadcasting in January 2025 in three split cours and reached its finale on June 25, 2026.
The event also featured congratulatory comments from original author Riichiro Inagaki and artist Boichi. Inagaki said the anime had adapted the manga all the way to its final chapter, which left him deeply moved, and asked fans to follow Senku's science a little longer. Boichi said he was truly glad to share the news of the new anime with fans and asked them to look forward to further announcements.
