Three Decades of Openings on a Trading Card
The Itajaga line pairs a salad-flavored board-shaped cracker with a collectible metallic card, and vol.7 is built around nostalgia. Each of the 33 cards reproduces a scene from one of the TV anime's past opening or ending sequences, spanning the show's 1996 debut to the present. The cards themselves are metallic PET/PP plastic, measuring roughly 86mm by 59mm, a size that fits standard card sleeves.
Characters across the franchise make appearances: Conan and Shinichi, Ran, the Detective Boys, Heiji Hattori, Kaito Kid, Toru Amuro, Shuichi Akai, members of the Black Organization, and at least one character tied to the latest theatrical film, Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway. That film, the franchise's 29th, opened in April 2026 and continues the series' tradition of spring blockbusters in Japan.
Pricing, Pre-Orders, and the Gacha Factor
According to Anime Anime's report, pre-orders went live on June 19 through Premium Bandai's Candy Online Shop. The product is sold as a box of 20 units at ¥3,520 (tax included), which works out to ¥176 per pack. Each pack contains one 7g snack and one metallic card.
One catch for collectors: a single box does not contain all 33 card varieties. Completing the set will likely require multiple boxes or trading with other fans. Bandai lists the target age at 15 and up, positioning the product as a collector's item rather than a kids' snack.
Beyond Premium Bandai, the snack cards will also hit candy sections at mass retailers nationwide starting in October 2026, so collectors who miss the pre-order window can hunt for packs at convenience stores and supermarkets.
A Long-Running Merch Staple
The Itajaga Detective Conan line has been a steady performer for Bandai's candy division. Vol.6 shipped earlier in 2026, and each wave has introduced a different card theme. Vol.7's focus on OP/ED scenes is a natural hook: Detective Conan has cycled through dozens of opening and ending themes over 30 years, many of them performed by major J-pop and J-rock acts. For longtime fans, these sequences carry as much nostalgia as the mysteries themselves.
The metallic finish is a step up from standard printed cards, and the OP/ED theme gives Bandai plenty of material to work with without repeating character poses from earlier volumes.
Looking Ahead
Shipping is scheduled for October 2026. Collectors in Japan can secure a box now through the Premium Bandai Candy Online Shop. No international retail partner has been announced for this product line. Fans outside Japan looking to collect will likely need to use proxy-buying services such as Buyee, Zenmarket, or similar forwarding platforms that support Premium Bandai orders.
The Detective Conan TV anime, produced by TMS Entertainment (Detective Conan, Lupin III), continues its broadcast run on Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming episodes internationally under the Case Closed title.
