What the Fair Includes
Japanese anime news site Anime Anime reported that Animate stores and their online shop will run the fair in two phases, each offering a different reward for Demon Slayer purchases.
Phase 1 runs July 28 through August 28 and distributes bromide photo cards. For every ¥1,100 (approx. $7) spent on Demon Slayer goods, or per audiovisual product purchased, fans receive one card at random from a set of seven. Phase 2 picks up from August 29 through September 27, replacing the photo cards with clear bookmarks in the same seven designs.
All seven designs feature newly drawn ufotable illustrations of chibi versions of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Giyu, Shinobu, Kanao, Hakuji (Akaza's human name), and Koyuki. Fans who purchase the limited production Blu-ray or DVD during either phase receive the complete set of seven instead of a random single pull.
The limited production edition also comes with a storage box illustrated by character designer and chief animation director Akira Matsushima (松島晃). Animate's own exclusive set adds an A5 Chara Fine Graph print and mini folding screen, both featuring Tanjiro and Giyu.
Photo Events Across Japan
Beyond the retail fair, Animate is holding "Mini Taishi Group Shot" photo sessions in seven cities, where fans can pose with pairs of chibi Demon Slayer Corps character figures. Entry is by lottery: buyers of the limited production Blu-ray or DVD receive a serial code to enter, and winners can bring up to two guests.
Each location features a fixed pair of characters:
- August 22: Sendai (Zenitsu and Kanao), Osaka (Shinobu and Sanemi), Fukuoka (Giyu and Gyomei)
- September 5: Sapporo (Tanjiro and Mitsuri), Nagoya (Inosuke and Genya), Hiroshima (Muichiro and Obanai)
- September 12-13: Tokyo's animate hall BLACK at the Ikebukuro flagship rotates through all six pairings across both days
Every attendee receives a chibi clear card bookmark matching the characters from their session.
Looking Ahead
The Blu-ray and DVD go on sale July 29, 2026, in three tiers: a standard Blu-ray at ¥4,950 (approx. $33), a limited production edition at ¥11,000 (approx. $73), and an Animate-exclusive set at ¥15,950 (approx. $106). DVD editions run slightly lower at each tier.
The film, based on Koyoharu Gotouge's manga about demon slayer Tanjiro Kamado's quest to save his sister Nezuko, posted massive numbers in its Japanese theatrical run: 27.4 million admissions and ¥40.2 billion (approx. $260 million) in domestic box office over 266 days. The manga has over 220 million copies in print through Shueisha's Jump Comics imprint and is published in English by Viz Media with all 23 volumes available.
No international streaming date for the film has been announced. The Demon Slayer anime series streams on Crunchyroll and Netflix in most territories. Chapter 2 of the Infinity Castle arc is expected to follow theatrically, though no release window has been confirmed.
