Trigger Brings Dungeon Meshi to LA
Two years after Season 1 wrapped on Netflix, Delicious in Dungeon fans are finally getting a solid update. Studio Trigger (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Promare) will use its Anime Expo 2026 panel to drop new information on the anime's long-awaited second season, Japanese gaming and entertainment site Famitsu reported this week.
Anime Expo runs July 2 through 5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, one of North America's largest anime conventions. The Trigger panel is scheduled for Saturday, July 4 at 2 p.m. Pacific time. No specifics on what the reveal will include have been shared, but given that Season 2 has had no release date, trailer, or episode count since its initial confirmation in mid-2024, any concrete detail will be significant.
Delicious in Dungeon adapts Ryoko Kui's manga of the same name, published by KADOKAWA. The series follows adventurer Laios Touden and his party as they descend into a dungeon, cooking and eating the monsters they encounter along the way. The manga has surpassed 14 million copies in circulation, including digital editions.
The Radio Show Returns
Alongside the panel news, a revival of the anime's companion radio program was also announced. Delicious in Dungeon: Dungeon Exploration Radio will return for a summer 2026 special titled "2026 Summer Meal," streaming on the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel on July 5 at 9 p.m. JST.
Kentaro Kumagai (Laios) and Sayaka Senbongi (Marcille; also Haru in Beastars, Mumei in Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) will host the broadcast. The pair hosted the original run during Season 1. The format matches the show's premise: the hosts eat monster-cuisine-inspired dishes while discussing anime news. Returning segments include a "monster strategy" corner and a dungeon-item hypothetical.
The radio show is currently accepting listener mail through an online form.
Looking Ahead
The Trigger panel on July 4 is the first major Season 2 spotlight since the anime's initial renewal announcement in June 2024. What form the update takes, whether a teaser visual, a trailer, or a premiere window, is anyone's guess.
Season 1's 24 episodes streamed internationally on Netflix, and the platform is expected to return for Season 2, though no official confirmation has been made for the new season's distribution. Kui's original manga is available in English from Yen Press, with all 14 volumes published. For fans outside LA, the radio special on July 5 gives non-attendees a same-day look at the news without an Anime Expo badge.
