YurryCanon Writes for Ado This Time
Ado announced the news with a comment, according to Japanese music news site Music Natalie. Her new song "Shinka" (シンカ) was written specifically for Demons' Crest by YurryCanon (ユリイ・カノン), the Vocaloid producer behind "Dareka no Shinzou ni Nareta Nara" and the band Tsukuyomi. It is a natural pairing on paper: Ado built her early career on the Vocaloid scene's orbit, and YurryCanon remains one of its busiest songwriters.
In her comment, Ado tied the song directly to the story's premise. She described a world where reality and the game erode into each other, where it is hard to tell which feelings are true and which are illusions, and said the song carries the idea of believing and pushing forward through that anxiety and inner conflict.
For Ado, whose anime work already includes Uta's songs in One Piece Film Red, this is her latest high-profile tie-in. "Shinka" can be heard in the newly released trailer, which arrived alongside a new key visual.
A Death Game From the Sword Art Online Author
Demons' Crest adapts Reki Kawahara's light novel series of the same name, published under Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko imprint since November 2022. The story follows young players caught in a death game after a mixed-reality game and the real world begin bleeding into each other.
Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell, Haikyu!!) is animating the series. Shinji Ushiro serves as chief director, Kenichirō Komaya directs, Eiji Umehara handles series composition, and the score comes from Yuki Hayashi and Naoyuki Chikatani. Character designs are by Yukiko Horiguchi, the former Kyoto Animation designer behind K-On! and Lucky Star, who illustrates the original novels and is redesigning her own artwork for animation.
Haruka Shiraishi voices protagonist Yuma Ashihara, with Konomi Inagaki as Sawa Ashihara. In a companion report the same day, Comic Natalie also revealed two additions to the cast: Yūya Hirose as Kenji Kondō (近堂健児) and Satomi Amano as Minagi Chano (茶野水凪).
Looking Ahead
Demons' Crest streams exclusively worldwide on Prime Video starting November 6, 2026, so international fans get it day one with no separate regional license announcements to wait for. There is no word yet on a release date for "Shinka" itself.
The source novels are already available in English from Yen Press's Yen On imprint, translated by James Balzer. Volume 1, subtitled Reality Erosion, arrived on June 18, 2024, and Volume 2, Otherworld Manifestation, is also out. The new trailer featuring "Shinka" is up now on the official Warner Bros. Japan Anime YouTube channel.
