What Happens in "New Companions"

The Episode 13 synopsis published by Dengeki Online sets up a two-track problem for Rimuru. First, Diablo has requested the creation of yorishiro, spiritual vessels, and Rimuru has finally committed to the task in earnest. The catch: the volume of vessels needed is enormous, and Rimuru's research lab simply doesn't have enough people to keep up.

While Rimuru is drowning in production bottlenecks, a Demon Lord arrives at his doorstep. The preview doesn't name which one, keeping the reveal for the broadcast itself. The first cour wrapped up threads involving Granbell and Mariabell Rozzo's conspiracy, so the identity of this visitor is anyone's guess.

The episode is scripted by Akiko Waba, with storyboards by Ryō Ogawa, Erika Nakajima, and Mizuki Nagara, and direction from Hitomi Ezoe. Chief animation directors Masayori Komine, Hideki Yamazaki, and MC Yamada Serika share supervisory duties.

The Second Cour Begins

TenSura's Season 4 spans five split cours and a projected 60 episodes total. The first two cours air back-to-back, with the second cour launching July 3 in Nippon TV's Friday Anime Night slot at 23:00 JST.

New theme songs accompany the transition. Daoko takes over opening duties with "TACTIC," replacing Eir Aoi's "Esoragoto" from the first cour. Azusa Tadokoro handles the new ending theme, "Himunaru," succeeding CiON's "Katsubō."

The second cour's key visual, unveiled earlier in June, prominently features the Primordial Demons: Testarossa, Ultima, and Carrera. Their appearance in the promotional art, combined with the episode title "New Companions" and Diablo's vessel requests, suggests the storyline is heading toward familiar territory for light novel and manga readers.

The series continues to be directed by Naotaka Tsuda at studio Eight Bit, with Hitomi Ogawa on series composition and Ryōma Ebata handling character design.

Looking Ahead

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4's second cour premieres Friday, July 3, 2026, at 23:00 JST on Nippon TV, with a BS11 broadcast following Saturday at 22:00.

Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series internationally across North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and Southeast Asia, with both subtitled and English-dubbed versions available. New episodes drop Fridays at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET.

The anime adapts the manga drawn by Taiki Kawakami based on Fuse's original light novel, serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius. The light novel series is published in English by Yen Press, and the manga is also available in English through Kodansha USA. Both the third and remaining cours of Season 4 have yet to receive confirmed premiere windows.
