Four Voice Actors Board the Fantasy Romance
A report on Japanese manga and anime news site Comic Natalie confirmed four new cast members for the short-form anime Migawari Reijō (身代わり令嬢を救ったのは冷酷無慈悲な氷の王子の愛でした, roughly "The Substitute Lady Was Saved by the Cruel Ice Prince's Love"). Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury in Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Fern in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) voices Nina. Shōya Chiba plays Thomas, Yōko Hikasa takes on Countess Sashabal, and Ruriko Aoki voices Charles.
Hikasa's credits include Mio Akiyama in K-On! and Rias Gremory in High School DxD, while Chiba broke out as Shin in 86 Eighty-Six. Countess Sashabal shares a family name with the show's protagonist, Katrina Sashabal, suggesting a direct family connection in the story.
What Is Migawari Reijō?
Published under Fan Guild's isekai fantasy manga label comic Spira, the story follows Katrina Sashabal. After her stepsister causes a scandal at a royal ball, Katrina is shipped off to a remote frontier territory in her place. There she meets Prince Clarence Naltisna, the domain's cold-hearted ruler, and the two slowly fall in love.
The manga is drawn by Kurokawa Kusabi, based on the original story by Yakiimo Hokuhoku. Volume 1 went on sale June 17, 2025. The anime is classified as a "light anime" (ライトアニメ), a short-form format with five-minute episodes. The lead cast, announced in May, stars Miku Itō, the voice of Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, as Katrina and Yōhei Azakami as Prince Clarence.
Ending Theme and Production Details
The ending theme, "Tokete Hikaru" (とけて煌る), is performed by neNna with lyrics and composition by Sasanomarii. This marks neNna's first anime ending credit. Sasanomarii described the track as pairing driving, icy rhythms with the warmth at the heart of the love story.
Yūsuke Morishita directs, with animation produced at Imagica Infos and Imageworks Studio. Sound direction is handled by Yoshiyuki Oguri, with sound production at ASLEBEN.
