Inside MoN Takanawa's New LED Theater
The sixth Demon Slayer stage play is the first major anime-based production staged at MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives, a creative complex that opened in March 2026 at Tokyo's Takanawa Gateway Station. Designed by architect Kengo Kuma, the venue's Box1000 theater seats over 1,000 and features a full LED stage.
Tsuneyasu Motoyoshi (元吉庸泰) returns to write, direct, and pen the lyrics, with Shunsuke Wada (和田俊輔) composing the score. The production covers two arcs: the Hashira Training, where Tanjiro and his allies train under the Demon Slayer Corps' elite Hashira swordsmen, and the opening salvo of the Infinity Castle battle against the series' main antagonist, Muzan Kibutsuji. The stage series launched in 2020 and has adapted each major arc in sequence. This sixth installment begins the final stretch.
Cast Comments From Opening Night
Shōgo Sakamoto (阪本奨悟) and Fū Takahashi (髙橋颯) share the role of Tanjiro Kamado as a double cast. Sakamoto, who has played the role since the Entertainment District and Swordsmith Village installments, said "the real battle starts here" and promised to deliver everything the company built in rehearsals. Takahashi, who said much of the production was new ground for him, hopes to perform "as a way of repaying" his castmates for their support.
Kenji Urai (浦井健治), a stage musical veteran known for playing Light Yagami in the Death Note Musical, takes on Upper Rank Two demon Doma. He described the bond within the company as something that mirrors the themes of Demon Slayer itself, and noted that Tanjiro and Nezuko have "overcome countless trials and grown" to finally reach the Infinity Castle.
Yohei Isshiki (一色洋平) plays the fallen Demon Slayer Kaigaku, Zenitsu's former senior disciple. His opening-day message was directed at both the audience and Zenitsu: "I'll be waiting for you in the Infinity Castle."
Yoshihide Sasaki (佐々木喜英), who has played Muzan Kibutsuji since the first play in 2020, said the cast had been talking about reaching the Infinity Castle since opening night six years ago. "That dream has finally come true," he said, adding that having original cast members return made the milestone sweeter.
Yōko Kadoyama (門山葉子), returning as Shinobu Kocho, highlighted that this marks the first time all the Hashira have assembled on stage in roughly five years. "We're all fired up," she said.
Full Roster for the Final Battle
The production features a large cast for the Infinity Castle storyline. Keisuke Ueda returns as Zenitsu Agatsuma, Yugo Sato as Inosuke Hashibira, and Karen Takahashi as Nezuko Kamado. All nine Hashira are represented, along with Mimi Maihane as Tamayo, Hisanori Sato as Yushiro, and Tomoki Hirose as Kagaya Ubuyashiki. A 12-member ensemble and two swings round out the company.
Looking Ahead
The play runs through June 28, 2026, at MoN Takanawa's Box1000 theater in Tokyo, with tickets priced at ¥9,800 to ¥13,800. For fans outside Tokyo, Japanese streaming platform U-NEXT will exclusively carry three performances on June 27 and 28, including the closing matinee. A cinema live viewing event is also planned for the June 28 finale, and the U-NEXT archive will remain available through July 12.
No international streaming or touring plans have been announced for this installment. The franchise's animated Infinity Castle film, which covers the same storyline, surpassed ¥40 billion (approx. $255 million) at the Japanese domestic box office and reached audiences worldwide through theatrical distribution.
