Frontier Works released a key visual and a main promotional video for the anime Zonbi no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai, known by the short name Zom Ore, on October 10, 2026, and announced two more cast members. The series is scheduled to air on AT-X from January 2027.
In this second cast announcement, Rikako Ito voices Tokiko Kurose and Marie Miyake voices Sayaka Makiura, according to Oricon News. They join the previously announced Wataru Kato as the protagonist Yusuke Takemura and Yuno Azuma as Mitsuki Fujino.
The series began as a web novel. Oricon reports that it took first place in the rankings on the male-oriented novel posting site Nocturne Novels before it was published in print, and that the novel and manga editions together have passed 750,000 copies in cumulative circulation.
In the story, zombies suddenly fill the streets, people are attacked one after another and the world heads toward collapse within moments. Yusuke Takemura is the one man they do not attack, for reasons he does not understand. With ethics and morality gone and his own safety assured, he does not stand up as a hero but starts acting on his own desires. Oricon describes the work as a zombie panic action story that exposes the nature of "life" and "sex."
