The Weekly Shōnen Magazine manga Yumenekonekuto (ゆめねこねくと) is getting a TV anime, with Yusuke Kobayashi and Yu Sasahara in the lead roles, according to an Animate Times report published October 14, 2026. A teaser visual and teaser PV were released with the announcement, and a teaser site opened at the same time.

Kobayashi voices Yūhi Takamiya, a high school loner who pretends to read to hide that he has no friends. Sasahara plays Nano, a girl from the alien Pokotsun people. Nano hears Yūhi's wish for friends and comes to Earth to sell outlandish products from space. Animate Times describes the manga as a slapstick comedy on a cosmic scale. STUDIO MASSKET is animating the series.

The staff comments focus on the show's sexual content. The director wrote that nipples appear in every episode of the anime, even though some stories in the manga did not show them. The series composition and script writer stressed that the show adapts a shōnen manga and is "absolutely not an erotic anime" (translated). The writer also noted that it will air on terrestrial TV and wondered whether anything will be visible on television. The manga's creator wrote that their first reaction to the adaptation offer was to ask whether it would really be OK.

The teaser visual shows Nano with Nyorupuppu Panpippi, a mysterious parasitic creature from the manga. The teaser PV, posted on the SHOCHIKU anime YouTube channel, centers on Nano and Yūhi.
